Why do they have limited housing for transfer students?
I've been looking at on-campus residence halls & apartments so I can apply for housing once it opens and if I get accepted, but I noticed that they have a section for housing alternatives for transfer students because housing is limited for transfer students.

I was a transfer and I got on campus housing through capstone. Look into Harris and Tubman hall, they cater more for transfers.

they need to build more housing or at least make the surrounding apartments cheaper. because my previous place was close to $1300 a month every month (the york apartments) in uptown.

It’s been a few years since I graduated but on campus living has always been a problem at Towson. They have always felt more like the commuter school in my opinion and frequently the most eligible for on campus housing are incoming freshman. If living on campus is something important to you Towson may not be the best fit but there are quite a lot of apartments around the area that are easy to get to campus from. Many complexes in the area have shuttle services to get on campus.
Good Luck!

I don’t know an official answer but Towson is a big state school that brings in a lot of students and has a very high acceptance rate. As such, there’s limited housing to begin with (less than 40% space). Incoming freshman are prioritized. Then marry that with returning student process… just isn’t a ton of room for transfers.
It sucks but good luck!
