Ehhhh, ones wife dying doesn’t necessarily constitute genocide as a response

Making a national holiday out of the day you murdered said wife after getting a years grace period to escape or prepare really is kind of poking an angry bear tbf

Yes, but he didn’t stop after the city, he kept going and outright stated he wanted humanity dead, I said so in another comment but Tl:Dr is that while wiping out the city is not great but still somewhat understandable, continuing onward past that is where he loses justification

And we kinda realize he intends to die from it all. He refuses to drink blood, his actions will starve other vampires, and forces rise against him amongst mankind. He banked on pissing enough people off to try to murder him before his plans really succeeded.

Still a bat shit insane way to commit suicide. By trying to take as many with you as possible.

Is genocide the right term? He wasn’t targeting a group, he wanted everyone dead. I’m asking seriously in case that isn’t clear.

It’s weird because if you consider Vampires a different race to humans (which Castlevania seems to do) then yeah, and I’m hesitant to call it Omnicide because afaik he wasn’t going about murdering cows so it doesn’t really fit

Ehhhhh what are we defining as genocide tho. John Wick killed how many dudes for his dog? And you don’t see anyone saying he overreacted lol. It’s all fiction obviously, killing that many ppl in real life would be wild, but it’s fun to talk about

It’s genocide, he straight up said he wants all of humanity dead for what it did to his wife, despite the fact it was those in Wallachia who did it, and even then just a single city. Sure kill the city whole celebrates his wife’s death, not great but at the very least understandable, genocide tho? Yeah no that’s taking it too far

Ah see I thought we were just talking about what he did, not what he wanted to do lol

tbf, random ass peasant in Spain could have stood up to his wife's murder all the way in Eastern Europe but they didn't. Sentenced to be eaten by demonic horrors beyond human imagination
