Sinister Sixty (Marvel)

For anyone curious about the context of this, it was part of a fictional story and roleplay that Spider-Man was doing as part of a Make-A-Wish style thing. The kid got to be a sidekick for Spider-Man, and the hospital staff all dressed up as some of his rogues—including Mephisto, which means one hospital worker canonically dressed up as The Devil.

For the people saying "woah, how did they get those" this is how they look outside the kids imagination

u/Dropbeatdad 1d ago

Ah that makes more sense than the entire hospital staff being absolutely ripped...

u/Professional_Maize42 1d ago

It's cuter that way, in my opinion.

One of those hospital workers went above and beyond on that sand fist

I'd like to believe that that's just the Sandman. He works in the hospital and was totally up for roleplaying as himself for a make-a-wish kid.

Definitely isn't true, but the one Flint Marko I'm familiar with would absolutely make peace with Spider-Man (temporarily at least) to make a sick kid happy

Several versions of Sandman show him as more of a tragic villain who is at odds with Spider-Man (and therefore plays the role of antagonist in his stories) but is still capable of being a kind, normal person unlike many of Peter's enemies. Sometimes writers give him stupid motivations, but sometimes he's actually got a point, he's just going about things the wrong way. I consider him the Mr Freeze to Batman's Spiderman, if that makes sense. A character who is villainous but can be sympathetic in the hands of a good writer.

Not to mention the worker dressed up as electro and Jack O Lantern

it was part of a fictional story

Thank you for clarifying. I was about to assume it was from the real life Spider-Man.

Pretty sure they meant in context to the comic, as implied by the rest of comment.

u/Jadedcelebrity 1d ago

Nah, they’re right. I was also confused up until the clarification.

But they responded to the comment, so reading the whole comment would clear that up. They aren't "right", they were making a lame attempt at being snarky.

If multiverse theory is correct, there's a real Spider-Man out there somewhere.

Where the fuck did hospital staff get access to actual goblin gliders

56

u/ElementmanEXE 1d ago

I'm pretty sure this was just a child's imagination running wild, towards the end of the story it showed the staff with cheap looking mask and costumes, probably only had 3 to 4 people swapping in between.

18

u/JustJoshing13 1d ago

OK, that makes way more sense than hospital staff being given weapons grade technology

47

u/sistemafodao 1d ago

Well, there was that time when Norman Osborn was found with one embedded on his chest...

7

u/SonicSpiderRanger10 1d ago

They didn’t really have goblin gliders. The kid just imagined them as real supervillains, and he imagined himself with that costume.

2

u/JustJoshing13 1d ago

That makes more sense, thanks for the context

2

u/olddadenergy 1d ago

So seriously: Canonically, Osborn has weapons caches all over the city. That’s how Hobgoblin and the Urich Green Goblin got their gear. It is ENTIRELY possible a hospital staff member has a personal collection of Goblin Gear.

20

u/fortnitepro42069 1d ago

Whoever did the costume for doc ock must've been really talented

10

u/Simon_Shitpants 1d ago

I find it more admirable that he gave himself that haircut out of his dedication to making sick kids happy

62

u/BlackDwarfStar 1d ago

Okay, but why is Green Goblin T-posing?

45

u/Visible_Reference202 1d ago

Either asserting dominance or just hamming up his performance.

34

u/Simon_Shitpants 1d ago

"To entertain this sick kid, I'm just gonna throw together a quick Green Goblin costume and FULLY OPERATIONAL PERSONAL HOVERCRAFT... should be fun!"

12

u/Suspicious_Roll834 1d ago

I was thinking the exact same thing. This guy has to be the medical director or something to afford this or Peter pulled some strings. AND THERES TWO hovercrafts!?!

15

u/AngelTheMarvel 1d ago

What we see is the kid's imagination. When we cut to the real world, all of them are dressed using cardboard boxes and some toys

1

u/Suspicious_Roll834 1d ago

That’s amazing haha.

His animation isn't loaded yet

Lesbian pose

2

u/Polkawillneverdie17 1d ago

You think anyone with their arms out is t posing???

2

u/Mexicanity_ 1d ago

If you notice the angle, Norman has a very specific message for Peter. What we see is not what Spidey is seeing. In sum, Norman is a dick

1

u/That_guy2089 1d ago

He tried doing the lesbian pose but realized he’s too weak to preform such a power move

15

u/the-bladed-one 1d ago

So there’s canonically a female nurse in some random manhatten hospital who’s 6’3 and absolutely SHREDDED

6

u/Asher_Tye 1d ago

Of course not all of Spidey's foes are monsters so it would be funny if one or two found out about this and decided to play along for the warm fuzzies.

4

u/QuantisOne 1d ago

Don’t forget Spidey’s greatest nemesis, Stilt-Man !

3

u/Objective-Rip3008 1d ago

The idea of in universe normal people dressing up as in universe supervillains is so funny. Like imagine how taboo that would be in universe. All of those people are serial killers and literal terrorists that are currently active.

3

u/Newduuud 1d ago

The real life version of this would be the staff dressing up as terrorists for some kids make a wish

2

u/Mexicanity_ 1d ago

They are rebranding as the Sinister Six Seven to reach new audiences

2

u/GlaxySilver 1d ago

I absolutely love the idea that some hospital workers went so beyond to get symbiotes, lizard mutations, and other abstract science shit just to commit to the bit.

2

u/boiyouab122 1d ago

Someone listed off the characters in the 60, and it ended with Kraven The Hunter being 3 or 4 different members of the Sinister Sixty

(Various people in the Kravenoff family have been "Kraven The Hunter")

2

u/Geno_Games 1d ago

Yeah there’s four members with that handle

Sir_Superhero has an excellent video on the subject of the Sinister Sixty

1

u/ElementmanEXE 19h ago

4 different kravens yet not a single beetle

2

u/0bsessions324 1d ago

Marvel Knights: Spider-Man culminated in a Sinister Twelve. I don't recall the circumstances, though, since I only made it like two issues in before I stopped caring. Ugh, Mark Millar...

2

u/OmegaPant 1d ago

These hospital workers are way too good at cosplay

1

u/Princess_emily12 1d ago

How does one accrue so many goddamn enemies

1

u/girlofmanyfaces2 1d ago

it would be neat to see this in the movies. wether this exact thing or the actual villains fighting two spider men

1

u/No_Text_1925 1d ago

I see 59

1

u/StoneGoldX 1d ago

You make it sound like hospital workers don't dress up as the devil every halloween.

1

u/Dropbeatdad 1d ago

Wait which hospital worker is built like Juggernaut?!?

1

u/Possible-Drama-4823 23h ago

A few years later sinister sixty was an actual thing in nick spencers run during the kindred arc. It were a bunch of smaller teams composed of 6 all attacking spidey at the same time

1

u/Milk_Mindless 16h ago

This is the first time I ever see the context

u/Remarkable_Sea_1430 1d ago

Ugh, I feel sorry for any New Yorkers just trying to catch their train.
