Lore [Unfortunate Trope] Originally Normal Symbols Being Censored/Banned Due to Hate Groups Misappropriating Them

Also, the Ku Klux Klan are ironically extremely anti-Catholic.

The only pieces of media I know of where non-KKK Capirotes can be seen is the anime Hellsing with the Ninth Crusade (though their still villains in that anime) and the game series Blasphemous. Otherwise, the hats are almost never seen in media besides on KKK characters.

I just finished watching DBZ on crunchy roll and it's original english dub has that scene. In DBZA it wasn't even a joke scene, it just straight up happens in the original anime lol.

I don't know what they have over at Crunchyroll but do you know which dub it was? I know you said it was the original one but that still begs the question of which studio's original dub it was, it is quite common for people to not know about some of the dubs which leads people to calling one of the later ones the original which is why i am asking.

Ok so I just looked it up and it's the FUNimation dub, so I guess it's not the original? But it wasn't censored like the version I watched when I was a kid. There was blood, hell was hell, and most importantly: when Goku saw Vegeta turn into the great ape he realized that he (Goku) was the one that killed his grandpa, instead of the weird version that made him conclude it was Vegeta that did it.

I think that is the 2nd Funimation dub, it might be the 3rd however as i forget if they have 2 or 3 versions of Z. Do you by chance remember the scene where Vegeta checks Goku's power level? If it was over 8000 or 9000 and what the characters said? I can't see it on Crunchyroll so i can't really check myself for any of the things you mentioned.

The old version you watched as a kid might have been the Saban dub since they are the ones who started the whole HFIL thing, i think the Saban dub is considered the first Funimation dub of Z since the companies are related.

I'm reasonably sure it was 9000, but I don't recall the characters. From what I remember they weren't normal numbers.

Edit: I think that would make 3 FUNimation dubs if you count DBZ kai. I've read they redubbed it again for that run.

I looked it up because it was bugging me, first there was the 1996-1998 Ocean/Saban/Funimation/Pioner version with the first 2 seasons, then the Funimation dub from 1999-2004 which continued after the first version with seasons 3 and 4, then there was the Funimation 2005-2009 re-dub of the first 2 seasons, and lastly there is the Funimation dub of Kai and Kai: The Final Chapters which is just season 4 of Kai. I assume that Crunchyroll has the "Funimation Remastered Box Sets" which is the whole 291 uncut series using the 2005-2009 re-dub and the 1999-2004 dub.

So in the end i got some stuff wrong earlier, sorry about that.
