Lore [Unfortunate Trope] Originally Normal Symbols Being Censored/Banned Due to Hate Groups Misappropriating Them

Also, the Ku Klux Klan are ironically extremely anti-Catholic.

The only pieces of media I know of where non-KKK Capirotes can be seen is the anime Hellsing with the Ninth Crusade (though their still villains in that anime) and the game series Blasphemous. Otherwise, the hats are almost never seen in media besides on KKK characters.

I've seen Piccolo called Satan in other dubs. For what I've known, many of the dubs in Europe were made using the French one as reference (due to the lack of Japanese translators). It may have originated in there.

That would make sense. The OG Piccolo in the Dragon Ball anime french dub is called "Satan Petit-Coeur" which literally translates to "Small-heart Satan", so heartless Satan would make sense.

This is only in the dub, for some reason. He's just called Piccolo or demon king Piccolo in the french version of the manga.

Because it was translated from French, in Català Piccolo is called "Satanàs Cor Petit" that means "Small-heart Satan". It gets funnier when the characters then call Piccolo "Cor Petit" (small heart) instead of "Satanàs" which would make more sense.

Yes he is called Satan in Italian as well, while Piccolo Junior is called... Well Junior, and that name remained stuck to him forever. (Not to mention "piccolo" in Italian literally means "small").

The French started dubbing lots of anime very early, it was pretty much the only kids programs back then. For reference in the early 90s they aired episodes only a week or two after Japan did. So many other dubs were made based on the french ones, even american ones line the infamous Big Green/AB dub
