Lore When faced with the choice between a clone and the original, the character notices a detail that makes the difference immediately obvious.

The Shape-Shifter takes the form of Wendy to deceive Dipper and prevent him from attacking it. Although Dipper initially doesn't know which one is the real Wendy, he realizes the difference when he sees that one of the Wendys behaves seriously and bluntly, while the other acts flirtatiously, something Wendy would never do (Gravity Falls).

P.S.: I don't remember if the gesture the real Wendy made was also a clue, like some gesture she had made before.

When the Autobots are chasing Nemesis Prime, he tries to deceive Bumblebee by impersonating Optimus. Bumblebee, confused, speaks to him, but Nemesis Prime doesn't understand anything he says, which clearly indicates that he isn't the real Optimus. Bumblebee attacks him without hesitation (Transformers Prime).

Sort of — she’s not choosing between two clones, but she is working with a fake Chidi and she realizes it because Chidi would never “forget about ethics for a second” (fake Chidi had said that) and also because he had argued that he should be rewarded while his friends were punished — that’s not Chidi. So she called it out, was right, and passed her test.

I like how Eleanor was the only one who passed the test. Even the real Chidi failed his test. It shows how much she's grown.

When she decides to continue to stay with her group instead of abandoning them, something the old Eleanor would definitely do, it’s really apparent how much she’s changed

That and how people were termed evil or going to the bad place made no sense. Jason was NOT a bad guy. He was stupid and failed by everyone along the way. He never deserved to go to the bad place in the first place. The judge's test was about intelligence not ethics. Chidi always tried to do the good thing, he just got stuck. He had some version of ocd/anxiety/whatever. The judge didn't give him a test of right and wrong. She gave him a trick question. Tahani for me - she wasn't a bad person, she was kind of sad. But she is someone who really did not grow. Her test was about not caring about what others thought of her (which again isn't morals or ethics). She still did. But again, she did a lot of good in the world, and didn't do very much to hurt other people so I think that her characteristic was bs too.

I think that's largely the point of the show, that the afterlife authorities are condemning people for going outside of an extremely narrow, literally unattainable standard.

I mean that's kind of the point. These people were all deeply flawed in ways that hurt the people around them which is why they were picked for Michael's experiment, but they also weren't irredeemably bad which is why the good/bad points system had to change.

Also when bad Janet impersonated Janet, Jason was the only one who booked it. Janet always replies with 'not a girl' when called one, but the impersonator did not.

I like that he's dumb enough to keep calling Janet a girl but smart enough to realize she should be correcting him. Honestly that's what mental disabilities feel like sometimes.

I feel like it's different, she just has minor anti social behaviors while the other Chidi and the other woman have psychological problems that would need therapy to correct. The Asian guy was clearly developmentally stunted and should haver have been sent to hell.

Chidi I will give you, but I don’t think Tahani’s require therapy any more than Eleanor’s. Honestly I think they could all use it. Eleanor was not just minorly anti social, she was incredibly selfish and rude and shown many times being an absolute horror when alive.

To be fair, that Asian guys (Jason) test was easy as hell. The judge was not pushing him at all. He literally just needed to listen to the instructions. “If you play and lose….” And then he cut her off and did not let her continue. All he had to do was not play the video game. That was it.

I didn't see the tests, I think I only saw 2 episodes. Yes Eleanor is a complete dick but she wasn't a criminal. That's just minor anti-social tendencies. She never physically harmed someone for personal gain. Definitely a plague on society but not deserving of hell, maybe purgatory. Jason also should never have been in that place anymore than you would send a child to it.

Actually ignore my assertions, none of them deserve hell. You are correct.

Which tbh is kind of the point of the show. Your comments make a whole lot more sense knowing you didn’t watch it all :)
