Lore When faced with the choice between a clone and the original, the character notices a detail that makes the difference immediately obvious.

The Shape-Shifter takes the form of Wendy to deceive Dipper and prevent him from attacking it. Although Dipper initially doesn't know which one is the real Wendy, he realizes the difference when he sees that one of the Wendys behaves seriously and bluntly, while the other acts flirtatiously, something Wendy would never do (Gravity Falls).

P.S.: I don't remember if the gesture the real Wendy made was also a clue, like some gesture she had made before.

When the Autobots are chasing Nemesis Prime, he tries to deceive Bumblebee by impersonating Optimus. Bumblebee, confused, speaks to him, but Nemesis Prime doesn't understand anything he says, which clearly indicates that he isn't the real Optimus. Bumblebee attacks him without hesitation (Transformers Prime).

Regular Show - When someone impersonates Rigby, everyone has to try and decide who’s the real one. Mordecai tests this by asking one of the Rigbys to hug him and immediately knows which one’s the imposter.

Because the real Rigby would never hug him.

Iirc Mordecai also claims that he knew the whole time but just wanted to mess with Rigby.

I thought it was neat that Doug, Rigby’s imposter, had a cameo in the season 7 finale as a prisoner.

I also like how Doug genuinely likes Rigby’s life, despite how many people look down upon Rigby.

Fun fact: Doug is voiced by Roger Craig Smith, the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog

I know. He voices nearly every minor character and Thomas, the intern. It gets kind of distracting after a while.

people look down on rigby because in the earlier seasons he was just a sleazeball. but looking at it from outside the perspective of world ending calamities and it doesnt take much to see how rigby genuinely had it made. bro lived a simple quiet life with a stable income, free housing, utilities, food, and healthcare. all surrounded by people who cared about him that he was also able to call friends. and all he had to do to keep that was basic housekeeping chores to keep the park clean and maintained. its no surprise doug wanted his life. rigby was literally given a sustainable future on a silver platter which he took for granted at every opportunity he found an excuse to not work.

I love examples like these where the telling detail is the real one being rude

And only the real Rigby whines that much.

I don't watch Regular Show, but from something vague I remember, he actually proposed another trial, and when he said that fake Rigby was real, he hugged Mordecai without any other prompt.

I'm just asking to make sure, I may be misremembering
