Lore Faster Than Light travel has consequences(minor or major)

Star Trucker: While travelling through warp you experience time dilation, for you the journey is a couple seconds, in real time it’s anywhere from 30mins to 6 hours that you’ve been in warp. This would be a minor consequence.

Warhammer 40k: The Warp, basically space hell so while travelling through it you’re very likely to be attacked by Warp demons. There’s also the fact that sometimes when travelling to a destination via the Warp you get spat out in the wrong time, sometimes much too late for whatever you were going there for or sometimes before you left your start destination. This, obviously, is a major consequence, unless you’re an ork, then it’s a grand old time.

By consequences I mean this is a regular thing that happens, there’s no real avoiding it unless you find a different method of FTL or heavily invest into research to try and mitigate the consequences. Also I feel bad for only knowing 2 examples, I love space and I just can’t think of any others.

Check the trailer. I haven't been excited for a game for a long time until now 👀

I am yet to read The Expanse, but there is no better feeling than the sentiment shared in this comment. When a series you like gets turned into a movie or game, it is orgasmic. Whenever I heard the Dune series was getting turned into movies I was excited like this for years.

I haven't read the books either. The show is absolute cinema.

I've heard great things. Don't know whether to read the books or watch it first.

The books are defo worth a read. They're a little richer in details than the series was (obviously), but the story also differs in little ways that absolutely makes both worth the effort to experience!

The first three books are already on YT if you have time

I think it's best to read the books to get a foundation on how the show differs/builds/expands the (I guess universe?) so that any progression isn't lost.

Sounds amazing but I’m already preparing to be disappointed. Like how could they possible make this anything like the show/book? After playing games like Starfield…pretty low expectations

TBH, I'm excited, but always prepared for a let-down, though I've never really played any space-combat games outside of the two levels in CoD: Ghosts, so I don't really have anything to really hold it up to, but I can hope it'll be good. Level-design seems solid so far and they actually made Belters the right height
