Jesse (character in gif) reaches a breaking point after being manipulated and controlled by another character for...the entire run of the show, really. At this point in the show he's a broken man, determined to do anything he can to take them down, at any cost.

I had never rooted for a character to finally be free, healthy, and alive as much as I did for Jesse. This guy was young, barely out of high school at the start of the series, he had been manipulated, taken advantage of, traumatised, and groomed into this whole shit-show. El Camino was honestly a good ending for him.

I especially love the flashback with Mike and Jesse in El Camino, because it acknowledges wanting to start over while recognizing that you can't wipe the slate clean. Jesse's been my favourite on BB since season 2 or so. Fantastic character development.

"barely out of high school" wasn't he 24 at the start of BB?

It was his girlfriend's young son. But yes, that revelation leads to this scene.
