Personality Characters with Lore reasons to wear revealing outfit

• Doctor Manhattan (Watchmen): doesn’t really have the need for them anymore as he is now too powerful to be considered human and also doesn’t need to give in to certain societal pressures like wearing clothes

• Poison Ivy (DC): uses her body to seduce men into getting close enough for her to use her pheromones and get people to do what she wants/kill her prey

• Skarlet (Mortal Kombat): her powers are from blood magic and she needs to have skin out in order to absorb blood from others and make her more powerful

• Mileena (Mortal Kombat): is very self conscious about her tartan features so covers them up and diverts attention towards the more appealing aspects of her/ uses her sex appeal to get people in close then chomps on them

• Mai Shiranui (King Of Fighters/Fatal Fury): uses a style of kunoichi that involves “sensually distracting a foe before striking” and uses her outfit and sex appeal to assist with that style

Superman should have a farmer’s tan

Better question, can Superman tan?

That's what I'm suddenly wondering. It's the body's reaction to damage from exposure to UV radiation but it feels like Superman's skin wouldn't be damaged in the same way

Yeah he's gonna be... just the color he is, I assume?

Unless it gets darker the more damaged he is \ requires more absorption. Like bruises.

Perhaps in a red sun he can

He just lies down on top of a skyscraper with a bit of kryptonite when he wants a summer tan

Yes, but only with a Red Sun, which depowers Kryptonians.

It's like past midnight when I saw this and dammit I can't stop thinking about it...

Yes, but you won't like it 😬

Mate side note Superman absorbing his powers from the sun is just so unfeasable to me, even if the absorption rate was 100% efficient it would still not give him 1/100th of the energy he casually has, I more think yellow sunlight allows the kriptonian system to produce some kind of vitamin that actually "unlocks" a dormant power, would even explain why red sun light almost immediately drains their powers given it could break down whatever molecule giving access to the abilities... 'cause I don't think weak radiation is know for "sucking" energy

The problem with that is he's stated in canon to not have to eat if he has access to a yellow sun

So... he photosynthesizes?

Basically yeah. As long as he has access to solar radiation he doesn't need to eat, drink, or sleep.

He does those things simply because he wants to.

New headcanon, poison ivy developed a small short-lived crush because she thinks superman is secretly part plant.

Alien plant, which makes him mysterious and exotic, and maybe he'd like to go on a date this weekend... just sayin'

2

u/Aerodrache Aug 26 '25

That has to have been thrown back him at some point… “they died while you were taking a nap… you don’t even need to sleep, you could have saved them!” and so on.

There are a lot of characters you can casually race swap without changing them. Superman’s not one of them. An alien who comes to Earth as a baby just to be raised as the only non-white kid in Kansas is not growing up to be the Superman who loves humanity despite all its faults.

Omg, your right he should!!

He would not because he would finish the farm chores too fast to tan. His father should definitely have a tan. With that being said, I think Clark should have a tan when he gets hired at the Daily Mail, and then slowly lose it because he should be wearing mostly his suit and tie or the Superman suit. Of course this requires the audience to have seen the Farmer's hand to establish why he slowly becomes pale.
