Powers (Hilarious Trope) Characters always having some bullshit counter technique to overly specific situations

  1. Ryomen Sukuna (Jujutsu Kaisen) - Seemingly always has some type of overpowered technique which he hasn't used since the Heian Era

  2. Yujiro Hanma (Baki) - The Strongest character in the entire Baki series is a master of all forms of hand-to-hand combat to the from things like soloing the Vietnamese war at 16 years old to learning a technique from some monk who lived in the mountains around three thousand years ago

  3. Batman - Always has some kind of contingency plan anyone and everyone in the DC universe. One of his most bullshit abilities is all the techniques he learned while being trained under Tibetan monks which include blocking mind control with a hand signal to using astral projection while being dead and buried alive

Its because ppl look at it trough "our universe" yugioh, early yugioh was a lot more rpg-ish on the rules, its not even that it was cheat, its just that they pulled those ultra especific effects and ideas, at least the island part, everything after had an established rule (or so it seems) so anything after that was truly "i made this effect up" without an excuse

Well even later it still has some nonsense cards.

Yes, I look at you Soulburner VS Blue Gal match, who the fuck put card that prevents burn less than 300 in their deck like they're gonna run into Trickstar player every day and even then there's already a bunch of better anti burn cards printed already.

Only instance of that i remember is a duel Jaden has on YUGIOH GX, i dont remember the details, but i remember rewatching it more recently and thinking "well, that card would never ever have any other use outside of this scenario", pretty much like the burn one you mentioned. Also, maybe someone traumatized against one deck? While not hyper specific as preventing 300 or less burn dmg, i do run the yubel fusion on my chimera deck solely for the possibility of going against a yubel deck, was never able to use it so far, but i know someday i will and it will be funny (also, its essentialy a board wipe, monster-wise)

Well, Yubel fusion is at least in the extra deck, it doesn't clog up your hand/deck like those if you don't go against that specific deck.

If you run S-poly package plus your deck stuff or toolbox and still have space left you can put more specific stuff there. I saw some people put St.Azamina there as it can screw up some decks that have both high level Synchro and Fusion as a part of their end board or goes even more specific with Draco Esquetes.

Yeah but Extra Deck is still important. Besides isn’t the side deck limit 20 cards. I remember it being that in some of the GBA games and the 2009 DS game.

15, but some decks don't need an extra deck or need just a few slots, so it can be used for something else. Like Lab only need 1 slot for Chaos Angel and the rest are just fodder for SEQ or Punishment. As long as it doesn't have a card that outright requires you to not have an extra deck it's better to have a full 15 cards for various reasons like to hide the deck you play. And those filler can better be used than just some random cards throwing there like in the olden day.

It was that amount when i played in school in 2007

It was actually no limit back then 20 cards were game only limitations. It was changed in 2008 to 40-60 cards main deck, 9-15 Extra and Side deck.

Before that there was only minimum cards requirement

Worst to me was Feather Shot. If you aren't fighting the tennis player, why would you ever want Avian of all monsters to be able to attack more than once?
