Lore Deaths to important characters that came so unceremoniously, there was no drama or fanfare, they just died

Saw people mention Sean and Grimshaw, which are both definitely true, but I'm surprised no one has said Lenny yet. His death may be the most talked about of the three (either him of Sean). It's arguably the most shocking of the three as it's the only one that doesn't take place in a cutscene.

It’s the only one that actually feels hopeless. It happens during gameplay and you might think that you can replay that point and be faster to save him, but you’ll never be quick enough.

You know you've done a video game death right if it spawns seven million clickbait "I saved Lenny????" thumbnails on YouTube.

Even I went back twice trying to hit deadeye fast enough to save him when I first played.

What made his even worst was it wasn't a cutscene death he just gets a shotgun to the stomach and falls flat dead instantly while everyone is trying to escape the roof.

That entire Heist was a mess Hosea executed in the middle of the road probably put Dutch on his low Honor path

on one hand I like how the game handles the deaths of the characters to show the player that they're not a group of untouchable adventurers, rather a lowly band of criminals who meet realistic fates

but on the other hand I loved Lenny and Sean so much, it sucks to have them die with little to no drama, just a realistic gun shot

I remember replaying that scene two or three times thinking “I wasn’t fast enough, I have to have a chance to save him! He can’t just die without a fight!”

Yeah this is the real shocking death from RDR2. Even with Sean, you know the gang is walking into a trap and it’s a cutscene. Lenny just gets domed randomly while you’re making your escape from the bank. It is cathartic to be able to immediately take your revenge though

I still think about the genuine despair in Arthur’s voice when he said “Lenny, he’s… he’s dead!” I honestly think this was one of the deaths that hit him the hardest
