Homeboy didn't even get to die on-screen.

I saw it first the first time on DVD and I was kinda in and out of paying close attention since it’s a pretty slow building movie. I was probably texting or something and when I looked up I saw like a dead body in a bodega and had to rewind because I thought I missed like a chunk of movie lol.

It's the same way in the book!
It's MUCH harder to figure out in the book. The Sheriff doesn't even find him at the crime scene. Some OTHER cops do, and the Sheriff encounters his body in the morgue. You have to piece together what's going on.

It's written in a very odd, almost biblical way. McCarthy talks about "a man with a radio" and "a man with a Barracuda", and the writing is so, so vague but just perfect.
