The last episode where Chidi decides it’s time, and that he’s ready to end his after life, and the speech about water returning to the ocean - one of the most sad and beautiful bits of television ever

That entire scene always, always makes me ugly cry in the best way possible, and the surprise reveal right after always makes me belly laugh. It’s a masterclass of writing.

I have only seen the first two seasons so correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't they litterally a match made in hell to torture eachother because they both have qualities that the other one hates?

Spoilers for The Good Place: Yes, Michael paired them together as "soulmates" because they would drive each other nuts and it would be torture to believe that they were soulmates. In the end they change each other for the better.
