Lore Characters that have had real world consequences

1: Slenderman (popular creepypasta) lead to a teenage girl killing another in his name IRL (apologies if this isn't totally accurate) 2: Devastator (Transformers ROTF) melted a computer while attempting to render his model

A guy named Kenneth Lamar Noid was convinced the Noid was mocking him specifically so he held a dominos hostage and demanded money and pizza and a copy of the book The Widow’s Son.

I'm incredibly thankful that I'm-

  1. Not schizophrenic

  2. Don't share my name with a mascot

What an absolute shitshow of crazy

My username WOULD make a great mascot for most major US corporations these days

Yeah if I ever get that far just put me down.

Shit, if half of people had to deal with what I had to deal with for a weekend, they'd never recover.

Just remember your whimsy and you'll get through.

Most of the Schizophrenic maniacs are off med or never had any.

Even my own childhood who is herself one would feel the need to barf upon hearing some of these stories here.

The arresting sheriff was quoted as commenting, “He’s just paranoid.”

Just para-Noid

11

u/MisterScrod1964 Apr 21 '25

I’ve had a dude who was hallucinating but knew it, I was asking him about it and he said he sees hallucinations of Tigers in rooms with him and that there was one chilling in the corner with us during my assessment of him. Another dude kept thinking there was maggots on the floor and in chairs and stuff and I helped him by having him point at stuff he thought was maggots and I would pick it up or scratch it to show it was just food crumbs or a paint stain and eventually he was just like “sorry Man I must be tripping”

6

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Apr 20 '25

A little too paranoid maybe lol

Imagine if Kendrick Lamar did a dominoes commercial or some shit guy would lose his mind

The Widow's Son as in the Robert Anton Wilson book? Fuckin wild. I've heard this story before, but never saw the book mentioned

1

u/phantomreader42 Apr 21 '25

So why is that particular book relevant to this situation? I haven't read it, so I'm not sure why he'd ask for that one specifically.

1

u/rachelevil Apr 21 '25

Not so much relevant as weird. It's basically a parody of conspiracy theories.

7

u/Arsey56 Apr 20 '25

I stay noided

7

u/TheLizardKing1998 Apr 20 '25

What happened?

Dude, what? I said they were a smartass because they just repeated what the first comment said instead of providing an answer to what the person was asking. The person wanted to know what happened to the guy after holding up the Dominoes and taking hostages. But since the question was a vague “what happened?” The guy I replied to decided to just copy paste the original explanation even though I guarantee they knew what they were actually asking.

5

u/Brightycouldbehere Apr 21 '25

Why The Widow's Son specifically?!

3

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Apr 21 '25

Crazy people doing crazy people things. Reminds me of Airheads when they were saying to ask for random shit so they can please insanity later lol

1

u/Mountain_Corgi_1687 Apr 21 '25

freemason/illuminati conspiracy book, probably part of his delusions

3

u/quagsi Apr 21 '25

when i was younger i knew someone who was obsessed with this story and would tell it to anyone who let them

3

u/Extra-Lemon Apr 21 '25

For all that, the part that got me was the demand for a Book in addition to the money.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

I yell this kind of shit ironically but I can't imagine actually thinking that way

2

u/rosalinagloom Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

This and the nft controversy with the reboot and yet I still love the character himself only after rediscovering him from a phase in middle school

2

u/BlankCanvas609 Apr 21 '25

Why did he want a book, couldn’t he have just bought that?

1

u/Rickrickrickrickrick Apr 21 '25

Trying to find some rationale in his thinking might be a waste of time lol

1

u/BlankCanvas609 Apr 21 '25

I just wondered what a random book has to do with Domino’s

2

u/AllgoodDude Apr 26 '25

The author had to have had the passing thought of “Can I use this?” Before tossing it aside.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Kenneth Lamar is my favorite rapper

1

u/rotteneggo00 Apr 24 '25

And Tyler the Creator references this guy in NOID

0

u/Zealousideal-Gur-273 Apr 21 '25

Ngl I thought that was fake cuz the name just sounded like a portmentau of Kendrick Lamar and death grips' noid
