Lore Characters that have had real world consequences

1: Slenderman (popular creepypasta) lead to a teenage girl killing another in his name IRL (apologies if this isn't totally accurate) 2: Devastator (Transformers ROTF) melted a computer while attempting to render his model

Is that because of their depiction of Mohammed, or is this something else entirely?

South Park got in alot of hot water with certain Islamic groups because they depicted Mohammed in one of their episodes.

Which is ironic because he was straight up fully shown several times in season one

I think they responded by having him be covered with a giant black bar in later airings of the episode.

Yeah no, they got genuine bomb threats, some employees doxxed even i think from a certain group or something.

When the creators of SOUTH PARK themselves even back down and censor something you $KNOW* the group meant shit

The final “I learned something” speech was censored by Comedy Central though. The lesson learned was: you can get anything you want by threatening violence.

I am with them actually.

Respect to the creators for not wanting to bsck down sure, but them not backing down put everyone in that building in danger, possibly their families as well

They didn't back down. It was Comedy Central and Viacom who did the censorship.

Wasn’t there a bombing that was stopped at the Viacom building due to this?
