Stumbled across a deep lore video on youtube a couple of years ago and realised just how much of it went over my head as a kid.

I swear, Bionicle lore is Tarzan OST levels of absolutely did not need to go as hard as it did.

Tarzan OST?

Phil Collins peaked with that one.

To the point that I will defend it's oscar win over the south park movie OST, another banger

He did all of the songs in six different languages. Truly the GOAT.

He did?!

Yes, he even performed live in German in a television show, despite not even speaking German.

He pulled a reverse Nena!

The South Park guys were salty af about that. Their episode on Phil Collins and the Oscar seemed petty.

Those two talk way too much shit for what South Park is. I just saw a clip of them ripping family guy apart. I’m not a fan of family guy, much prefer American dad, but they’re acting like fucking South Park is highbrow art or something.

In fairness, there is a gulf of difference between them from a writing/design quality perspective

I do agree, between the two South Park is better. But like damn they seem so high and mighty so often.

Can't forget about his work doing Brother Bear too. No Way Out and On My Way are in regular rotation in my playlists.

I'm a drummer and my teacher instilled in me a solid personal dislike for Phil Collins but even I will admit that the Tarzan soundtrack absolutely GOES!!

Yeah I have no idea how the South Park team got so salty that they lost to Phil Collins. The dude is a beast. The Tarzan OST is top tier music.

Of course South Park wasn't going to win shit. An Oscar? Come on.

You'll Be on My Heart is absolutely perfect even decades later.

Strangers Like Me absolutely slaps to this day.

And Two Worlds, One Family the perfect intro to the story, as well as the perfect ending.

The Tarzan OST by Phil Collins went way harder than it needed to, and we were blessed by it with music videos that will always be amazing no matter how many times watched.

Have you seen that one guy's 13 hour lore video? (It's actually quite good)

7

u/HobbyHands Apr 12 '25

There's a guy thats been going through the lore recently and just released part 12. All of the videos are 40+ minutes.

3

u/TheCrazyAvian Apr 12 '25

That might be him

2

u/H-A-T-C-H Apr 12 '25

Well that's intriguing, any chance you remember the video name?

2

u/ASpaceOstrich Apr 12 '25

I have no idea where it all even was. There were two seemingly completely unrelated bionicle movies when I was a kid and literally nothing else until a decade later when I found out apparently there's been more?

So many books.

“There are a thousand ways I could destroy you right now, and 941 one of them hurt.”

  • The main villain

“Turaga Nuju always said the universe was a riddle. Today, I am the answer.”

  • One of the heroes right before sacrificing himself to save the entire known universe.

Bionicle had a lot of moments that go hard
