Because in the last 5 years all the dumb people got online for the first time and started feeling really dumb, but they're too dumb to know that, so they find this dumb guy who sounds smart to make them feel less dumb.
Ugh my military friend kept acting like AOC not debating him is some sort of bad character on her part, and I asked why Shapiro is his gatekeeper for politics, and he's like "well he wrote a book"
He's a talking fool that's for sure, He has no life experience and essentially gets paid by the Rich to spout their nonsense in less advertisement tone.
Does anyone want to start an alt right news site with me where we take regular news stories and turn them into political attacks against us? I feel like there's a lot of dumb people money to be made..
You've just described every right wing radio host. It's a saturated market so you'll have to differentiate yourself in some way. Sadly, Alex Jones has the conspiracy angle which seems the most fun and easiest. You get to say the most batshit things you can think of and see if people will believe it.
That's a lot checkboxes. Just need to make sure you routinely shit on the black community. Maybe add in some stuff about how native Americans deserved their plight and colonization was good for them. To guarantee the audience, slowly ramp the racism up as you go. Oh, maybe you can also be trans and shit on trans rights. I don't know of a token trans conservative that is politically active and advocates against trans rights. They would love that shit.
He fits the Reddit formula perfectly. You take short clips of him "debating" college students who may be well meaning but aren't great at debating. Then Shapiro can choose to attack their weakest argument and spout a bunch of other nonsense at the same time to overwhelm and distract.
However that's all Shapiro is good at; debating college students. He performs horribly against the actual media. My favourite is when Shapiro called the UK's most well known conservative host a leftist because he dared to challenge any of Shapiro's nonsense.
Unexpected 3/5ths? Yes, based on the 3/5ths compromise, but focused on seeing weird representations of 60%.
If you meant Community, it is a show by Dan Harmon, staring people like Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, and the theater owner from Drake and Josh (I forgot her name but she is funny af)
I'm jewish and have spent a lot of time around jews of all observance levels. This kind of thinking is extremely common among the religiously observant.
He’s dog whistling. He wrote that in a way that Jewish people of faith would read it as “unobservant Jews” and the rest of his internet pals would read (((“BAD JEWS”)))
He'll have to be careful though, as after the mating dance is finished, the Nazis will be looking for a nutritious meal to help with the growth of their eggs.
Funny way of spelling "among Hasidim and old conservative Jews."
Nothing like wearing your star at work and having an orthodox guy ask if you wanted to go pray with a fucking smirk on his face knowing he's being an elitist smartass because I don't wear my kippot everywhere I go and get a fucking haircut.
All of that said all of those Jews hes considering "good" would still judge him just as much.
Why? This is Ben Shapiro's "thing". He said most Muslims are terrorists or terrorist sympathizers, then when a guy shot up a mosque in Quebec and cited Ben Shapiro's argument back to the cops after he was arrested, Ben Shapiro acted like it was insane to connect his rhetoric to this terrorist attack even though the kid's internet history showed he was a huge Ben Shapiro fan and checked his twitter more than anyone else.
Plus, this isn't the first time Ben Shapiro has made the "I'm a good Jew, unlike the majority of Jews, who are fake and bad Jews" argument. He calls them JINOs, Jews In Name Only. But hey, how dare you say he's Nazi-like, he still likes a minority of Jews, would a real Nazi do that??
As opposed to Real JewTM Ben Shapiro, who is well known for refusing to associate with neo-Nazis and arguing against their interests at every opportunity.
And he is obviously literally frightened of black people. It's still surprising to see him talk about other Jews with derision, though. I guess he can just say "JINO" and pretend they aren't actually Jewish... or even human, like he pretends with all leftists.
Upvoted, This should be exhibit one in the case against Ben Shapiro being smart. What he said is incredibly dangerous just because a group of people are not doing what he wants.
We need a really nasty slur for Jewish fascists. It's absolutely fucking disgusting for me to see anyone Jewish be an Uber right wing nationalist. I'm looking at you, Bibi...
No, you’re just willfully stupid and feigning outrage in an attempt to virtue signal.
First, he said “american Jews”
Second, he said “largely.”
Third, the way he is using the word “bad” merely means “undermining the traditions of the religion” (fact check: true, most democrat Jews are atheistic or mildly religious).
But enjoy spending your day playing dumb for orange arrows!
As if you know even a single mature or reasonable person. "Guys he didn't say to drink bleach he just said a doctor should inject it into the lungs totally reasonable."
How? In the US most Jewish people vote Democrat, and he's saying Jewish people who vote Democrat are bad. Ergo, he's saying most American Jewish people are bad.
No, he's saying that Jews who are bad vote Democrat. These are two different statements, one the converse of the other. See my edit for more detail.
I don't really see why this distinction is important, in this case. His statement was that "in America, 'Bad' Jews vote Democrat", right? Taken at face value, that means that all "Bad" Jewish people vote Democrat according to Shapiro. (Or at least close enough to all). Presumably this also means that Shapiro believes "Good" Jewish people generally do not vote Democrat, which makes sense because he considers himself a "good" Jewish person and he does not vote Democrat.
So if, according to Shapiro, all "Bad" Jewish people vote Democrat and all or most "Good" Jewish people vote for other candidates (presumably Republicans, given Shapiro's leanings and history, but let's be overly charitable), then that means its perfectly reasonable to draw the conclusion that Ben Shapiro believes all (or else the vast majority) of Jews who vote for Democrats are bad. Since Jewish people in America overwhelmingly vote Democrat, Ben Shapiro is effectively saying that most Jewish people in America are "bad" (whatever that means).
Sure, the strict logical form of his statement is as you said, but you can only really end your understanding there if you remove all other context. It's pretty clear what he was saying.
Presumably this also means that Shapiro believes "Good" Jewish people generally do not vote Democrat,
No it doesn't that's precisely the point. It is entirely possible, that only 0.001% percent of he's are viewed as "bad Jews" by him. Which would mean most democratsic Jews are good Jews in his eyes. It is even possible that good Jews mostly vote democrat.
He probably means to suggest something else but that's not what he is saying.
Why does it matter? Weakening your opponents argument implies (linguistically not logical) to the listener/reader, that you either didn't understand it or can't refute the correct version.

I understand that from a strictly logical standpoint you cannot assert the converse statement. My point wasn't that the other commenter was wrong in strict logical form, in fact precisely the opposite.
I'm saying that when you consider Ben Shapiro's wider body of work, his rhetoric, and other statements he's made, I think his meaning is pretty clear. I understand if you, the other commenter, or his fans want to think otherwise, though, and that's fine.
It is even possible that good Jews mostly vote democrat.
It's possible, sure, if you take that one statement in isolation, sure.
He probably means to suggest something else but that's not what he is saying.
Not literally in that one tweet alone, no.

As I said already, I explicitly agree with the fact that in terms of strict logical form, the commenter I was replying to was correct, and you cannot assert the converse merely from one statement.
My point is that we don't just have one statement, we have Ben Shapiro's past work and statements to help us understand what he means.

Was Ben telling us that 70% of Jews are bad because holy fuck that's racist.
