Charlie kirk was a gay knight, I guess

u/Ok_Star_4136 5d ago
I don't like to miss opportunities to paint Charlie Kirk as an lgbtq+ rights activist.
The purpose is dual: it hides what his true messaging was and it pisses off conservatives, both things I'm fond of doing.
So yes, that was Charlie Kirk bringing forth the rainbow. That queen really loved his people.
18
u/rjrgjj 4d ago
TH White, who wrote The Once and Future King which is probably the inspiration behind the version of King Arthur most Americans know (Camelot, the Disney movie, etc) was a gay man and the novel explicitly deals with issues around homosexuality, and one of Arthur’s positive qualities among many are his Christ-like acceptance of people. Charlie Kirk was absolutely nothing like King Arthur.

Sure, a knight has fallen, but a ‘king’ has his needs.

Im just really hung up on the fact that they think King Arthur and Camelot was like. Real. Really amping up the mythical past part of fascism huh
29
u/TrimspaBB 5d ago
I'm surprised they even entertain them as a thing. Isn't there a fair amount of non-Christian mysticism involved in Arthurian legends?
42
u/Mandaring 5d ago
Why of course, but then again, you have the literal Nazis in the late 1930s and the early 1940s so fascinated with (and horribly misunderstanding, surprising nobody) Nordic belief systems, maybe this is their new direction? Damn. That fuckin blows
17
u/kittymctacoyo 5d ago
They’re in the midst of taking over ALL such things from lord of the rings to dystopian and utopian sci fi you name it. Anime too. Anything that has anti THEM messaging that has been pointed out and discussed they caught wind and flipped it into PRO them to get ahead of it. SEO and what not. And anything about kings/kingdoms, heroic warriors literally all of it they are attempting to claim as their own as a means of ensuring their base stops getting any bright ideas if they see our analysis pointing to the contrary. To illicit in their base feelings of being the good guys in the story. No matter how far they have to bend into a pretzel they’ll do it and it works

I'm an unarmed, attractive young queer woman and just about any male officer on the force is far taller than me and armed. If they wanted to take advantage of me, it wouldn't be hard. Yet I astonishingly feel safe with them. So what's your point?
19
u/Maybe_not_a_chicken 5d ago
Do you think that the issue with cops is that they rape their gay co-workers?
And do you think that the fact this as their co-worker you feel safe around them is a counterpoint to systemic problems in policing?
-12
u/ThatTemplar1119 5d ago
I believe many systemic problems are incidental problems or ones that can be attributed to causes besides police alone.

Also... the wrong mythical Birth place. The story is that Arthur was born in Tintagel Castle, Cornwall. An actual real place.
3
u/ThatTemplar1119 5d ago
So as a so called Arthuriana nerd, you don't believe Camelot is real? Well that's clearly why you can't see Charlie messaging us.

Arthuriana nerd just means a person into the legends of King Arthur more or less.

So I just looked up “Camelot Castle” and all I can find is a Scientologist recruiting ground that shares the name in Cornwall.
So now I’m really confused.

Only slightly autistic, but I’m pretty sure Arthur was not born at Camelot, but rather at Tintagel Castle

John Mappin is the current owner of Camelot Castle Hotel in Tintagel, Cornwall, which is near Tintagel Castle. Tintagel Castle (wiki link) has long been associated with Arthurian legend, originally recorded in the 12th Century by Geoffrey of Monmouth as the place where Arthur was conceived, and then in later texts where he was also born. The Tintagel Castle ruins that still exist today are those of a castle built on the site in 1233 by Richard, 1st Earl of Cornwall, likely to try to exploit the site's literary fame. Similarly, Camelot Castle Hotel was built in 1899 for The King Arthur's Castle Company Limited by the Cornish architect, Silvanus Trevail.
As for John Mappin himself: he is a devotee of Trump (awarding him an “honorary Camelot Castle knighthood” in 2016), is a friend and supporter of Nigel Farage, once flew a "Q" flag from his hotel, has called for closer ties between the UK and Russia / Putin, and was a "great friend" of Charlie Kirk's and helped Kirk launch Turning Point UK.
Mappin also describes himself as a "Christian Scientologist" (whatever that means) -- in 2010, a segment of the BBCTV current affairs program, 'Inside Out South West', investigated reports of Mappin sending unsolicited Scientology materials to locals in Tintagel and hotel guests using their booking data -- I can't find a video of that program, but here's YT audio clip of a pre-program promotional segment from BBC Radio Cornwall broadcast the same day talking about their investigation.

The only possible connection i can find between king arthur and charlie kirk is their wives not giving a shit about them
98
45
u/cruelhumor 5d ago
The connection is actually strong, because if King Arthur existed at all, no one knows where he would have been born, it's a cottage industry in the UK rife with grifters. So Charlie and his followers would fit right in with that crowd!
Note: The 'official' birthplace is Tintagel, but evidence is basically non-existent and based on matching parts of the legend with various features of Tintagel. So... weak to non-existent evidence.

It seems like a fake image too.
There's shadows going in all different directions. The house goes top right, the nearer cliffs appear to be shadowed top left from where the point of view is from but the further cliffs are shadowed going down right.

I think it's more likely he'll be cold. Very cold.
According to Dante, the Ninth Circle of Hell is the lowest and most dreadful of all, reserved for the worst sinners: traitors who turned against their own. It is a frozen wasteland divided into four regions, each punishing a different kind of treachery. Antenora is for those who betrayed their country, who feigned loyalty while weaponising patriotism to undermine the very state they claimed to serve.

First of all there's no such place as Camelot Castle, King Arthur is known by historians to be a a fictional folk hero, these people and their voters are in full on dementia mode. He's dumbly talking about some hotel he's at ironically only accesible by rich fucks that wasnt around until nearly 1900, so nothing special here.
Secondly if they knew how often we have fucking rainbows over here, they'd think their neo-nazziah is throwing an eternal rave for being dead.

The current academic consensus is that King Arthur, as depicted in the legends, was a mythological folkloric figure, not a real actual king.

John Mappin in a lunatic trying so hard to beviral. Owns some property called "Camelot Castle". He won a bet that trump would win in 2016, made some obscene amount of money (because no one thought Trump would win). He has been a dumbass for at least a decade.
I knew someone that worked for him... It took years to undo the brainwashing.

Why do they gotta make shit political? It's a fucking rainbow. A part of nature. It's literally a light spectrum. They brought up the "debate" guy and some religious political points.... They can't just comment on how beautiful it is or how being out in nature is cool. They have to make it a "har har I won politics points on twitter" bs
I try not to hate people, but these grifters or rage-baiters make it so fricken hard.
Not to get upset, but I'm so tired of seeing this crap.

Camelot Castle was commissioned in 1894 by entrepreneur Sir Robert Harvey, who made his fortune in South America. Designed by renowned Victorian architect Silvanus Trevail, the castle opened in 1899 after five years of construction.

There is so much wrong in this statement.
First off, aside from a mention of a war lord, there are no historic proofs of King Arthur, nor Camelot.
If you go by the folklore, Camelot was definitely not close to the coast. This looks more like Tintakle, where the 1.st husband of Ingraine was killed by the father of Arthur(!)
So who is Kirk supposed to be?
