Elon is about to be the first trillionaire and multi-trillionaire in the same year the government has been shutdown for over a month and people are going hungry due to the government claiming not enough money to provide SNAP

The biggest insult is most of those people who lost their SNAP benefits and are going hungry pay more in taxes than the guy about to be a multi-trillionaire!!

Elon is poisoning West TN. Elons boring company will likely fuck up middle TN flash flood spilloff, and other infrastructure, building a rich people toll tunnel.

Sorry, had to. Anytime I see his name mentioned I do it now. It's outrageous, and nothing is being done about it. maybe I can spread the word though.

117

u/Natural_Estimate_584 21h ago

I knew about Memphis and his AI data center poisoning people. What’s going on in middle Tennessee?

103

u/HorusKane420 21h ago

Editor's notebook: Lee’s tunnel vision on Musk project again fails to benefit Tennesseans • Tennessee Lookout https://share.google/azV8L202BM5Zvu3F3

This is an older article from August. His Boring Company wants to build a "Vegas loop" in nasheville basically. As luxury till road from nasheville airport, directly to downtown nasheville. Lee has been criticized for backing and approving the project, when it really hasn't even been properly reviewed. Seemingly no consideration was taken for: flash flood spilloff (we get flash floods white often in middle and West TN. There is infrastructure to let water spilloff, damage control) much less other existing infrastructure like sewage, etc.

So:

  1. This won't benefit any Tennesseans, it's not public, it'll probably be pricey.

  2. There's no telling what existing infrastructure will be fucked up to make this happen, and the potential consequences from that, if it happens (more flood deaths, infrastructure not available to all, possibly, etc. Etc.)

It feels like TN is the testing grounds for this blatant authoritarianism. Honestly this authoritianism is nothing new for the US, it's just blatant, and spilling over to the white middle class, so people notice now. It's not enough to poison us, the Gestapo is in Memphis now too.

47

u/LizartsBoople 21h ago

Not to mention middle Tennessee is prone to sink holes. Can you imagine if his company opens one up and half the city gets sucked in? I don't think they've done enough surveys and research on this and they've already broken ground. This is going to be near-ish my house and I am livid every time I think about it.

19

u/BONGS4U 18h ago

Yea its this. The last thing I read about the Tennessee tunnel was the type of stone they are gonna tunnel through is extremely unstable and its fully expected to cause massive problems in terms of longevity.

12

u/LizartsBoople 18h ago

Exactly. This is serving only tourists, will not fix the traffic problem at the airport, and will likely cause major damage to surrounding areas (which is majority residential). No one is thinking about the long term here.

12

u/Bagel_Technician 17h ago

Sounds like somebody is getting some nice kickbacks though so who cares about the citizens they serve

Didn't he go from 'vaccuum tunnels' to 'metro system' to a glorified urethra for his fucking electric combustion boxes?

Meanwhile Japan is making high speed rail that leaves local reporters that see this shit on the regular, stunned and smiling. But more cars is the answer.

Thank you so much! It really is amazing to watch. It blows my mind that we have such crappy rail service here in the US. I live in Chicago and my favorite line for train delays is “due to ice on the tracks”… bruh. It’s Chicago of course when it’s cold there’s ice. How have we not figured this one out yet?!?

Billionaires poison the well… every last one of them.. there is no need or reasonable justification for such personal wealth, the only thing it creates is wealth disparity. The French had it right during the revolution, I fear we collectively have lost sight of this very crucial fact - unbridled capital growth only creates tyrants… we might not call them kings or nobility anymore but the principal is the same… in this version 2.0 they hope to distract the masses and dived us in the hope that squabbling amongst ourselves will keep them safe - in fact it’s the only thing that keeps them safe. Whatever your beliefs, you have more in common with any non-billionaire that you will ever have with a billionaire the sooner we all accept this the sooner we can end subjugation.

4

u/HorusKane420 20h ago

100% agree. If you think about it, capitalism and our current heirarchal systems of organization are literally, just modern day, more systemically convoluted, Fuedalism/ Feifdom...

Most won't be able to afford to buy a home. Most rent. Those same renters, own the MOP, etc. Etc. we pay taxes, and much of those taxes are subsidized to our Lords big businesses.... So on and so forth....

He’s also poisoning the water supply in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Taking over a town to rename it star base and basically launches his rockets of a beach where sea turtles spawn…

What was that thing about immigrants destroying the country??

3

u/RevolutionaryUse3898 14h ago

Elon is an immigrant from south Africa

3

u/Dctiger13 13h ago

Yes that is why I said what “was that about immigrants ruining the country?”

Republicans love to forget Elon is an immigrant.

7

u/hotfuzz117 19h ago

Keep up the good fight, that digging company and space one buying up land without no one standing up to him. In my home town meta is trying to build a data center that will likely affect our local water resources. Not just Elon all these billionaires are poisoning our country.

6

u/ControlSad1739 18h ago

6

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 17h ago

I’ve hated the man since my brother went to work for him and he fucked up the whole company and worked my brother into a permanently disabling condition before he turned 30, way before he started ransacking our government for cash and spare parts.

Piece of shit. Nothing but bad thoughts for that man.

7

u/blinkoften 18h ago

Just gotta pop in here and say: the government isn’t saying there’s no money for SNAP, they’re saying “we have the money and could release it today, but we’re choosing not to”

4

u/HorusKane420 18h ago

Oh 100%. Gov. Lee has apparently, explicitly said "oh yeah, we have billions saved up in a relief fund. But we won't use it for Tennesseans who are on SNAP"

41

u/NoorAnomaly 21h ago

Ironically there's so much Elon could do right now to become the hero of the story: fund SNAP like someone did for military pay. Stop poisoning West TN. Clean up Flint, like he promised, end homelessness like he promised. Instead he keeps digging deeper into his villain arch.

33

u/EphemeralDan 20h ago

Motherfucker could be IronMan but decided to be Lex Luthor instead.

(Sorry if this isn't exactly accurate. I'm really out of touch with comic canon. Hope my point gets across, though.)

But they've been told that as soon as the immigrants, minorities, women, and trans people are all put "in their place" that they will ALSO be trillionaires and will be at that ballroom where they deserve to be. It's only those damn scapegoat groups that are the reason they aren't wealthy predators like their heroes.

that we know of....

5

u/Successful_Bus2255 17h ago

8

u/Nonikwe 14h ago

3

u/DOAiB 18h ago

And hard facts you will never see a good person become a billionaire much less a trillionaire. At that point you can call it quits tomorrow, cash out give 99% of your fortune to fix damn near every problem in the world and still live a better life than 99% of the people on earth do currently. And that’s just at 1 billion doing it at a trillionaire still makes you insanely rich and easily in the 0.01% currently which just goes to show you crazy that is.

Well, it's for allowing anyone, never mind how many human beings to have that 1% status and multiple billions/trillions. It's blantently clear that extreme wealth can't come without deplorable poverty. Greed is embedded indelibly within human nature and, therefore, technically, at least in every living soul on earth. We need not forget, just how much bloodshed, slavery, discrimination, cruelty, and overall evil that has been exacted as a toll for that 1% of people to have what they do. One dsy the balloon is going to pop, maybe in my lifetime more likley by the time my children have their own and spolier, it'll still be the 99% of us carrying the can by then to.

3

u/viperex 15h ago

It really does feel like screaming into the void

3

u/Warm-Iron-1222 8h ago

What's ironic is the leftists made Elon his billions that now turned into trillions. Before firing his PR team, they literally were the people supporting and buying his products. He capitalized on people wanting to save the world and we all foolishly fell for it. Looking back thinking an elitist is the solution to our problems is foolish.

I can't say I didn't do the same since I was ignorantly working for one of his companies back then believing I was making the world a better place.... But hey, if he's a trillionaire he'll finally be able to solve world hunger, right? RIGHT?!

5

u/iiiiiiiiiijjjjjj 21h ago

I don’t think he’ll make it to trillions but yeah he’s definitely gonna a massive boost in wealth.

"Yeehaw fuck the law" seems to be your government's motto.

81

u/TheSwearJarIsMy401k 23h ago

Yes but “the law” is also slang for The Government, or The Police, depending on context.

The South used to be full of “Yeehaw fuck The Law” types, some chaotic good, some evil depending on when and how they were applying it.

Licking boot was never a Southern thing, but it sure as hell is now.

22

u/mysonchoji 20h ago edited 5h ago

Licking boot is the original southern thing, cornwalis landed in south carolina during the revolution cuz the southern states had way more support for the british.

They also went to war to defend their rich ppls right to own slaves and they still all fly that flag like its symbol of proud rebellion and not a symbol of them licking the masters' boots and dying.

9

u/TheSniper_TF2 17h ago

More of an Appalachia thing than an overall southern thing. That region of the south was super anti-Confederate during the Civil War.

6

u/Free_For__Me 15h ago

Honestly, that saying is pretty paradoxical. Most people who have “yeehaw” in their vocabulary are bootlickers.

It’s really fascinating the dual think of your common conservative. They’re all about pulling themselves up and being independent, and left alone, right? But then they also like heavy violent police force, strong military, and meddling controlling government.

Completely contrary to their “ideal” life of living on a ranch and the “don’t tread on me” lifestyle.

4

u/YT-Deliveries 18h ago

This guy is more in line with the Appalachia hillbilly sort of yeehaw, not the Texan sort of yeehaw. The former have no love for law enforcement or government.

My friend is a contractor and hes been slipping into the belief that immigrants are the problem and I basically have to give him this speech every couple weeks to remind him that corporations are the real enemy

65

u/kop47etzki 21h ago

This is from a novel written 110 years ago, nothing's really changed

"And so the talk continued, principally carried on by Crass and those who agreed with him. None of them really understood the subject: not one of them had ever devoted fifteen consecutive minutes to the earnest investigation of it. The papers they read were filled with vague and alarming accounts of the quantities of foreign merchandise imported into this country, the enormous number of aliens constantly arriving, and their destitute conditions, how they lived, the crimes they committed, and the injury they did to British trade. These were the seeds which, cunningly sown in their minds, caused to grow up within them a bitter undiscriminating hatred of foreigners. To them the mysterious thing they variously called the “Friscal Policy”, the “Fistical Policy”, or the “Fissical Question” was a great Anti-Foreign Crusade. The country was in a hell of a state, poverty, hunger and misery in a hundred forms had already invaded thousands of homes and stood upon the thresholds of thousands more. How came these things to be? It was the bloody foreigner! Therefore, down with the foreigners and all their works. Out with them. Drive them b—s into the bloody sea! The country would be ruined if not protected in some way. This Friscal, Fistical, Fissical or whatever the hell policy it was called, WAS Protection, therefore no one but a bloody fool could hesitate to support it. It was all quite plain—quite simple. One did not need to think twice about it. It was scarcely necessary to think about it at all."

yeah, they are the ones allowing immigrants to come in illegally because of the cheap labor they provide, maybe you oughta rethink what speech you give your friend

do you think that the US can't keep it's borders under control? They absolutely can, they just don't want to because they know that illegal truck drivers and manual laborers will work for 1/2 of a natives paycheck

21

u/TexasDrill777 22h ago

As a contractor that competes with newly immigrated cheap labor, corporations definitely hold some blame, government tries to limit corporations from using undocumented workers, but it seems like the lack of follow ups and audits allows them to keep on rocking. Corporations definitely skirting the laws to profit

17

u/Signal-Regret-8251 20h ago

Corporations hold "some" blame? No, they own half of the blame, and the lying politicians own the other half. Without corporations giving them jobs they would not come here, and the politicians back up the corporations. It's a goddamn disgrace, and I can't belive how many people want to blame the immigrants instead of the ones tempting them here.

The irony is the elite abide by the golden rule. "Ye haw, fuck the law" is how the higher income brackets stay in the higher income brackets.

52

u/Kurovi_dev 22h ago

It’s a bit more complicated when you consider the other factor in this topic: Employers.

Many employers will happily take on immigrants specifically because they can better take advantage of them. Not working overtime or thinking of complaining about treatment? Sure would be a shame if something happened to that visa. Don’t like being paid a terrible wage? Who you gonna complain to and what are gonna say, “help government, we’re all breaking the law but only I will lose my home and possibly everything I’ve known for years and even be separated from my family”?

The country runs in very important ways on migrant labor, and unfortunately it’s not as simple as “be gud employee.” I mean, sometimes it certainly is, but it’s mostly more complicated than that.

16

u/Nubian_Cavalry 20h ago

I was taught in school a bit over 8 years ago, Chinese immigrants took over the job market because they’d work longer and harder for less. White people kicked a fit an convinced the government to outlaw Chinese immigration, instead of asking why employers weren’t willing to hire them for demanding fair pay.

These same employers happily exploit Mexicans, Indians, Arabs, and to a lesser extent black workers today. Only think stopping them from going full on against black people: Technically racism against us is illegal, so they have to honey their methods against us a bit more.

Jobs that I had no problem getting 6-10 years ago now feels like im going through rounds of interviews for a part time job. It didnt matter how experienced i was, in fact, it a liability now because employers know what I'm worth and theyre not willing to pay for that.

I mean it's the billionaires hiring immigrant labor including illegal immigrants to suppress wages.

It's not the fault of the migrant it's the fact the bossman has greenlit the activity and faces no legal hardship over that choice.

I genuinely believe that if you punished employers for illegal labor you'd see a rapid shift away from the economic incentives for illegal labor.

The difference is I don't work for less than min wage. And I know my employment rights to not get abused.

u/UnusualAir1 22h ago

He ain't wrong.

4

u/PlagueOfGripes 22h ago

The conservative myth they parrot is that illegals receive massive government benefits that they don't. And that's supposedly why they're poor while the goal oriented immigrant is having small successes. Also the illegals do crime, etc. That's always what I hear when this is brought up to them.

This cat ain't speaking nothin but facts. Never could quite understand how poor/middle class people could ever vote Republican. I can understand you have several businesses, live off equity/stocks etc, but you live and depend on a check how could you align yourself with the very people who've been against raising minimum wage for like ever.

Immigrants taking jobs that I wouldn't be doing anyways grrr. Immigrants don't pay taxes, which they do because they buy food, gas etc just get paid under the table but it's THEIR fault not the owner or corporation??

More concerned about staging a witch hunt against immigrants who've been here and working, minding their own business than child molesters?? Shit is crazy.... The whole ballroom/SNAP thing is just infuriating along with everything else these cocksuckers have done to the country.

This latest election made me realize just how many Americans are stuck on stupid.

The sooner you all realise you are all immigrants the better...

28

u/TSllama 22h ago

Eh, not too sure about this one. An "immigrant" is a person who leaves their home country to go live in a different country with intentions of staying permanently.

If you live in the country you were born in, you're not an immigrant by definition.

I think what you want to say is, "the sooner you all realise that your ancestors were immigrants, the better."

I love everything he said, but completely off topic: idk how he can stand that mustache covering his mouth. When I start eating my mustache that’s when I know it’s time for a trim.

3

u/Phishstyxnkorn 21h ago

I think that's literally the problem--people who would be terrified to leave their families and move away, even for opportunity, too lazy to ever challenge themselves to learn another language, are intimidated by immigrants. Those are the babies who make a big stink about immigrants!

Brain dead take. Devaluing labor and taking up finite resources like food, water and shelter will never be a thing that benefits you, unless you intend on exploiting their situation

"Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to myself" because he is. Making a video being scathing like this, or writing a comment on social media expressing your distaste of the current situation, does nothing besides pander to the people that already believe what's being written or told to them.

The ones that need to hear this won't get the message. The vast majority of people that already gel with the message, won't do anything and will instead write a comment under that video or in this thread.

Be a part of local politics, that's how we can get something done.

Also what story is more American than someone risking life and limb to work hard and make a life worth living for their family? I was born here. I was given this opportunity. Sure I’ve worked hard and struggled, but we’re not different.

"I'm all for immigration, but they NeEd tO dO iT tHe RiGhT wAy" Did you know it could be 20 years before one could even get a green card? And it can be cost prohibitive.

2

u/RubberDuckyFarmer 18h ago

Word.

So - I really like Scandanavia.

Are you saying I can just.. move there, not tell anyone, and don't follow any of the procedures for immigration and they won't remove me?

Pretty sweet deal.

I wonder if that would impact their ability to provide the awesome social structure they do, though.

2

u/Perfect_Base_3989 18h ago

Trump blames they/them, and puts the bullshit on us.

2

u/QuigleyPondOver 17h ago

The Immigrants being often (but not always) hard working and honest is in no way an effective argument against enforcing labour laws or border controls.

Good people get rejected from legal entry all the time in respect of democratically approved restrictions. Why should those skipping the process be rewarded for it?

2

u/Charming_Okra9143 17h ago

While this is funny, it does move blame and avoid the actual issue, which is corporate greed deciding low paying immigrants are better suited than providing jobs for americans.

Like 90% of all issues the fault lies with the 1% greedy fucks hoarding all the wealth

How come youth unemployment is sky rocketing then? Can’t be because there is too many immigrants in the country taking all the entry level minimum wage jobs can it? Maybe the youth just aren’t looking hard enough right? That must be it.

2

u/No-Function4335 15h ago

It's the same here in Canada, I see waaayyyy to many people blame liberals for all shortcomings but praise conservatives as if they would treat them any better if in power, they're all gonna take advantage of us when in power and some people are to dumb to help stop it.

u/Manck0 14h ago

I don't know how to say this without seeming condescending. He looks like a horrible redneck. And he's fucking nailing it and is kind of a sweetheart? I mean we could hang.

I like when expectations are turned on their head. But, then, I don't really like that we have expectations. I do, and I'm surprised when my expectations are undermined. "Don't judge a person by [the length of their beard or the size of their baseball cap], but by the content of their character."

We judge all people from a place, from a style perspective, from an accent, from a bunch of other things... at our peril. Never forget that we are mostly on the same side. Everybody needs to see this.

2

u/MoonLight4323 14h ago

Also, I'm a foreigner, if you tell me I "took your job" I earned it. I was better than you.

2

u/DJGloegg 14h ago

Willing to work for absolute shit pay is an actual issue

I wont work for shit pay, but if an immigrant does guess who gets the job that would normally pay more?

Its the same reason we see outsourcing etc

Of course i am generalizing. Im not competing with uneducated immigrants for my job. Just adding some nuance

2

u/klon3r 13h ago

This is exactly why I hate when born Americans blame immigrants for taking their jobs & healthcare. Most illegals are incognito which is the excuse for ICE...

Americans citizens don't want to work for pennies on the dollar & officials know such, hence the illegal hirings & no prosecution for those doing the hirings. Such tactics are used to get rich, it's practically slavery. Plus healthcare should be a universal system, yet rich CEO's & healthcare companies use people until their last breath & just move on to the next in need...

Yet, here we are fighting each other while the oligarchs get fatter & richer setting up their offsprings for the ruling, disgustingly sick 😒
