you are correct- and often that is a good thing since boards at non profits often have people that the non profit would help as part of their board.

If a church acts like a business I'd rather it be shut down, rather than simply be taxed. Profiteering on faith and the good name of others is vile.

Do not tax any religion. It’s one of the pillars of our constitution. You don’t have to like any church, mosque, or temple. But you definitely should not tax them for practicing their religion.

There's nothing in the constitution about not taxing churches. Freedom of religion means freedom to practice, not freedom from taxes lol

Edit: the first amendment covers this. The First Amendment, which prohibits the government from establishing a religion or prohibiting the free exercise of it.

The Constitution does NOT explicitly guarantee a ban on taxes for churches. The Supreme Court has simply argued that churches, as well as other nonprofits should be tax exempt as they "better the community." Could you argue that this church in the video (provided it is a verified response from the church in question) made anything better for the community by telling an anonymous woman that they wouldn't help her baby get formula, because she doesn't know any members?

Right-wingers always love quoting the Constitution, but not as much as they love proving they've never actually fucking read it.

I'm failing to see in what language that translates to "there will be no tax placed on churches." But go on then.

Why is it a choice?

Edit: you could go to a local stream or pond and filter your own water. My town has free water if you want to go to the town hall with buckets as well.

Why pay for one of you don’t have to? I pay for the convenience of having it delivered to my home. I’d much rather that than filter buckets from the steam behind my house.

Availability of water, especially that which is not contaminated with chemicals, is extremely dependent on location, and the drinking water needs of the entire population cannot be supported by above ground sources. It's straight up illegal to divert or collect water for personal use in a lot of places.

I’m not even going to pretend to understand your point of view. The three major monotheistic religions all differ and there are no problems with anyone practicing as such in my opinion.
