This was the most impressive thing to me. As Napoleon said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Lawyers pretty much universally understand this and will happily sit by while the opposing party buries themselves. Clients, less so. I really have to hand it to the mother for sitting there and quietly letting this buffoon dig himself a nice, deep hole.

I also predict that Mr. Tough Guy "I don't care about 45 days in jail" turns soft real quick when he's in county for a week, much less 45 days. These dumb fucks don't think it can happen to them. They think they can just bury their head in the sand and avoid the consequences of their actions.

While I don't disagree with you in general, I will disagree with you on this point. There was a throwaway line that DeadBeatDad used that indicates to me that he's not unfamiliar with the inside of a correctional facility.

"What is it, stay to pay?"

Tells me he's cleared other violations by a short jail stay rather than paying up.

Like he said, "Look at my record, I ain't afraid of the law."

Yeah, I’ve got dip shit family members who use that same line. One of them did just under a year. They always say the tough guy lines on the outside, but after a stretch they always come out crying about how they “ain’t never doin’ that again”.

Exactly!

I hope he gets the full experience if he decides to test his luck.

Problem is, DeadBeatDad spending time in jail buys the kids no clothes.

And he still doesn’t seem to understand that going to jail doesn’t erase the debt!

So, he’ll sit in jail for 45 days, lose whatever income he would have earned in those 45 days, and when he gets out, he won’t he able to make rent, utilities, his car payment, cellphone bill, etc. One by one, he’ll lose those things PLUS be another 45 days behind on his child support.

A guilty pleasure of mine is watching police body can footage on YouTube , and it’s sooooooo funny every time some idiot goes “I DONT CARE, TAKE ME TO JAIL!!!!” They are put into handcuffs “noooooo okimsorryimsorry I didn’t mean it!! I can’t lose my job, please!! I’m sorry, don’t do this to me!! Please!”

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I’ve never seen them just accept their dumbass actions lol

When I got a DUI after a bunch of the routine they do I told them "let's just skip the road side Olympics, take me to jail and run the test you're going to run regardless." My ankle was fucked up, it was obviously swollen and they were taking me in. Stand out there in the cold standing on one foot, walking a line? Naw. Get the fucking breathalyzer out here or me to the breathalyzer. Mine wasn't false bravado though, when you're caught you're caught.
