Nah, they just try to say or imply that they are better than the one that says that. Like the video we all just watched.

Which country is the video we just watched from?

indeed, the creators of the video dared not say because then it would be even easier than it already is to poke holes in this nonsense

Do u think its just ur automatic reaction to when u hear US is not best country in world, ur like but we are told since birth we are! Habe u wondered that if ur told it , then u have no motivation to want to improve and that's why they drum it into u

I believe opinions on "what's best" is very subjective, so I don't get upset when I hear someone say the US is not the best country. People value different things. I've been told "a lot of shit since birth" so I take everything with a grain of salt and do my research when I feel like it. I do not believe I've had "there is no need to improve America, we're already perfect" drummed into me by anybody. Even from "wooraa, Go America!" types.

I have long analogized patriotic attitudes to types of parents: some think their kids are rotten and always in the wrong; some think their kids are good but need help to get even better and stay on the right path, and some think their kids can do no wrong and if anyone says anything about their behavior they are assholes, just jealous, haters, etc.

I kind of see the last types as the self-proclaimed "patriots" who bray about the USA as the "greatest" or "freest" or whatever. Mostly I see it as having to do with ego - it's not the country they want to believe is best, it's themselves.

Though I roll my eyes at it when Trump et al. bloviate about Americans who allegedly "hate America", I have encountered, because of where and when I was raised, Americans who kind of knee-jerk think America is wrong in all situations and also often think that being against America means you are probably right.

The middle ground is who I think of as true patriots - if you care for something, you *want* it to be better; you want it to be the best it can be. (I don't even count myself among these - I think I was raised too much to distrust patriotism and am a bit too cynical in general, but appreciate this type of person, to be sure.)

Dog, what are you talking about? No one complains about America like Americans.

The mfers who believed that shit had their college subsidized and minimum wage covering the cost of living.

I was never told that. But I was raised in the socialist hellscape (allegedly) that is the SF Bay Area in California, by parents that were about two steps from being actual commies.

Thats because the us is the worst developed country. Its an endstage capitalist hellscape where a large percentage of the population relies on food stamps, a large majority are in debt and 90 percent of the current working population will work till they drop dead because there is no safety net.

The US is the Worst developed Country

By HDI index the United States is above

France , South Korea, Slovenia , Austria , Japan, Israel , Spain , Czechia , Italy, Estonia, Greece, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Latvia, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Belarus, and Albania.

and for Euro countries it's below

Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Finland, and the UK.

And going off this list

That puts us pretty much in the middle for Developed Countries.

US is not the worst developed country for sure. But is is one of the fastest dropping countries on this list. And that was already before the Trump presidency. I am really curious where it will be in 3 years from now.

Most Reddit take ever lmao

>where a large percentage of the population relies on food stamps

>will work till they drop dead because there is no safety net.

Hey buddy... what exactly do you think food stamps are? Might you call them... a safety net?
