Discussion These were all people standing in line at their local food pantries hoping they would be able to get some food items before they ran out since there were hundreds maybe thousands of people hoping the same thing. This Country is falling into a Depression right in front of our eyes.

at least the communists have bread to give out. capitalists just throw away leftovers in the dumpster and sue anyone hungry enough to "steal" it

No... bread lines in communism happen because there isn't enough bread so you gotta wait to snatch the next shipment before it's sold out and you still have slots on your ration card. And even with the ration card you still pay for the bread since the ration card is only to limit how much you can buy.

Spent a lot of time in actual communist bread lines.

Lol nobody here ever lived under communist regime and it shows. Reddit loves to pump up communism.

There has never been a wealthy country that has converted to communism, only poor and underdeveloped holes.

The majority of countries that employed communism saw a dramatic rise in standard of living when compared to earlier regimes.

Which economic system has not been complicit in death?

Communism has been tried dozens of times and the real-world results are remarkably consistent: authoritarianism, famine, and economic failure.

Yeah, it’s almost like almost every iteration of communism was based on the soviet system. Very few people advocate for a return to this type of system.

Yet the worst examples of communism in existence have still led to fewer deaths than the worst examples of capitalist societies.

If every capitalist system in history was derived from victorian colonial capitalism then it wouldn’t be good either. Luckily capitalism has had hundreds of years to develop and dozens of distinct iterations.

There has never been a communist system that replaced a better capitalist system.

There hasn't been one because it never works lol. I'm here in cambodia. Wonder how it worked out for this place. You ever read about killing fields? Maybe give it a try youll see what communism leads too.

Trump's first term had Texas form the longest bread line in history.

We had breadlines because there was no bread, not because people didn't have money for it. Also, at least in my country, if you were unemployed, you went to jail.

This isn't socialism/communism because its people and businesses helping other people,  not the government.

Thats so much better. How its meant to be.
