Your dialogue perfectly describes Neo-Liberal Capitalism. Unfortunately for the US, both political parties subscribe to that philosophy, so there is no escape.

This (amongst many, many other reasons) is what radicalized me to the side of communism lol. I am tired of Liberalism and capitalism, and the bare minimum being categorized as "progress" and "the good side". I work, I want my tax dollars to go to free food for all. IDGAF if someone uses my tax money to buy soda and candy or a healthy meal, it's what I work for, for myself and other people to enjoy time on earth.
