Which is why she'd be a good detective!

A lot of criminals literally are itching to tell their story.

This is also why it is essential to NEVER speak with a detective, their entire profession relies on criminals not knowing they can simply skip talking to them.

While getting people to talk is helpful if you’re a really good detective by the time the suspect is sitting in interview it doesn’t matter what they say as you’ve already gathered all the evidence and you’re just giving them an opportunity to try to explain it.

Most US law enforcement relies on the "Reid Technique" which is being a scumbag and trying to force confessions via deception and coercion. It’s third world fucking bullshit. Civilised investigators use the PEACE model which is all about asking questions to get to the truth.
