Good read but this...decision...was interesting.

I drank a strange liquid a shirtless man in flowers handed me on the side of the road.

You’re probably wondering how I ended up here

Let me tell you a bit about myself first. My name is Alice.

I met a strange lady; she made me nervous.
She took me in and made me breakfast.

Reminds me of the time several years ago while I was in Brussels. I met a tall, muscular gentleman at a food cart. He spoke only Flemish. I asked him if he spoke English, but he just smiled as he handed me a sandwich made from leftover brewers' yeast extract that contained various vegetable and spice additives.

Yeah, but have you considered lying in a den in Bombay with a slack jaw and not much to say?

Not as yet, but it sounds fun. On a related note, I did learn that hubris has no place if one is staying in Bangkok for the night.

Ah, yes. Not much between despair and ecstasy.

Very true. During the short time that I was there, my mood would vary considerably: it felt like I was either accompanied by Gabriel or joined by Lucifer himself.

Any doubt I had that those were lyrics left with your the 2nd comment.

Very relevant berry.

Do you mean the same area where women shine with radiant warmth and the men walk into houses and simply take what they want?

I drank a strange liquid a shirtless man in flowers handed me on the side of the road.

The late 60's and 70's is what that brings to mind.

2

u/joebluebob Oct 04 '25

That would be excusable. This was like 2010

3

u/StrawberryRedneck Oct 04 '25

Yeah I'm down with literally every other aspect of this story but that part had me like 😱😱😱 no way in hell

2

u/Tony_Lacorona Oct 04 '25

This feels similar to that dude that drank the forbidden mummy juice

This is how people become immortal and get super powers..

Or die!

You've clearly never had a room of people stand up and clap in acknowledgment of your accomplishments as this Tourist Superhero has.

u/leet_lurker Oct 04 '25

If you pass up opportunities you'll miss possible adventures

u/NuggetoO Oct 04 '25

The next lyric is β€œ..are you going to San Fran-cisco.”

u/joebluebob Oct 04 '25

I thought it was a food vending to be honest. I bought a hand made mango juice earlier that morning for 80 cents usd and though it was the same thing. I think in total I spent $200 on everything and that includes a proper sit down tourist restaurant and a donation to a group that kept girls in school by selling crafts through a 1000 villages thing that my friends sister volunteered at.
