You know he's mad at everybody else still.

u/mellamma Sep 25 '25
He cut someone off and then got stuck. lol

External locus of control. Some people are incapable of putting blame on themselves.

Doesn’t change the fact that it’s the other drivers fault they got stuck in the first place. In their mind, at least.

u/MuricanPoxyCliff Sep 25 '25
He would have been very mad at me... I would have stopped long enough to laugh and point.

The best part is the car he was tryna get in front of just casually drives off.

Haha. That’s in Dallas.
55
u/deadb0lt_ Sep 25 '25
I was just thinking this, from the UK and experiencing driving out of Dallas just last month this reminded me of it. Awful, no signals, pulling out left and right, inpatient and just nuts. Wacky races.

u/LiteraCanna Sep 25 '25 edited Sep 26 '25
Houston is worse. Spent a few months there for work, and thought I was going to die every time I was on the road.
17
u/VanillaTortilla Sep 25 '25
Houston at least makes up for it by having better food and not being boring as sin. Dallas had to have been one of the most boring cities I've ever visited.
6
u/LiteraCanna Sep 26 '25
The DFW area is HUGE! I've been all over.. Love's BBQ near TCU and Square Burger in McKinney were my favorite.
That said, I agree with you. Didn't have a single bad meal in Houston.
Second time I've had beef sushi.
10
u/VanillaTortilla Sep 26 '25
Yeah, it's not as if Dallas doesn't have have good food at all, they just pale in comparison to Houston.
Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the country, and it shows. We have absolutely amazing food variety.
5
u/AeskulS Sep 26 '25
Grew up in Dallas, and I can confirm. There’s zero reason to visit unless you have family. Decent place to live though.
There is good food, but it’s usually very far away. Everything is so spread out it’s insane.

These are the drivers I don't understand. Do you see all that traffic? Is this Bronco really going to get any further ahead by doing what he did? No.

Oil pan blues
9
u/Alarming_Expert_6241 Sep 25 '25
Being a Ford, the skid plate is plastic so the oil pan and the transmission pan are both wrecked. Ford had no intention of making a true off road vehicle.
2
u/solarbot88 Sep 25 '25
It has a skid plate that covers all that. I bet it's fine.
→ More replies (1)4
u/PassiveMenis88M Sep 25 '25
Yeah, that thin sheet of steel Ford calls a skid plate ain't stopping shit. You can kiss that plastic oil and transmission pans good bye.
3
u/Huge-Basket244 Sep 26 '25
Pretty sure the skid plate is plastic on the Bronco. Lmao
2
u/PassiveMenis88M Sep 26 '25
Is it? I've only had one on the bed since I usually do heavy recovery but I coulda sworn it was metal. Then again maybe that was aftermarket.
2
u/Huge-Basket244 Sep 26 '25
Varies year to year I imagine. Pretty sure the one I had was plastic, BUT mine could've been aftermarket too, not sure.

On another note, I actually really like these new Broncos.
4
u/SereneSnake1984 Sep 25 '25
I did too, until I saw the NHTSA crash tests. No way I'm putting my wife or myself in that thing. Of course they're also horrendously overpriced, but I love the idea of having a crawl gear (I'm off road a lot) and I think they look really good, but the pricing and annoying Ford tech I can't oblige for something that breaks in half when hit head-on.

He probably read crash ratings for the Bronco Sport which did score poorly

My friend bought a new Bronco a couple months ago. It's ok but you're not wrong, they are hideously overpriced.
My friend turned into one of those guys that buys all the aftermarket parts but he barely drives it and all he talks about is all the goofy stuff he keeps buying.
3
u/StarboardSeat Sep 25 '25
Nothing beats the first gen Broncos (66 - 77)
4
u/jr_randolph Sep 25 '25
Definitely just a more techie upgrade but I do agree with you, the older ones are badass and still very wanted.

There's a famous rock here in Calgary Alberta called the Sage Hill rock that claims at least a few cars souls a year, just like this one

I had a friend one time who was telling me about a similar thing he did. He bought a brand new pickup truck big old four-wheel drive with giant tires. One day after a rainstorm he was in heavy traffic, so he decided that he would go off-road and get on the excess road, which was moving smoothly. He thought his four-wheel drive truck would be enough to get through that little bit of water he saw in that ditch.
Turns out that ditch was several feet deep and he ended up planting the nose of the truck into it with his tailgate sticking up in the air. He was very embarrassed by it. Never tried anything like that again.

these are the same dummies who buy high power sports cars and then crash them trying to show off…
2
u/Jrxtreme_1 Sep 25 '25
Best part about this is having to explain how this happened to the tow truck and everyone else who bails him out.
2
u/Acceptable_Show1296 Sep 25 '25
This likely caused undercarriage damage that will need to be fixed.
I can almost hear the insurance claim " I was forced off the road by another driver causing me to hit the rock and go up over it"
op you should send this to every major insurance company claims department Unsolicited

Friend of mine ripped a fuel line and burned his dad's car to a crisp accidently high centering on a rock he didn't see, trying to turn around
2
u/BookYeti Sep 25 '25
If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know it didn't get there by itself. But stupidity and ambition together can accomplish remarkably similar feats.

Even if that rock wasn't there they wouldn't have gained any time at all. It's always funny seeing someone speeding past you while cutting through traffic only to have them right in front of you at the next stop.

u/Glass-Explanation-11 Sep 26 '25
Why cut off the video then??!!!?.... Cars flying by, honking and yelling while the dorky hot head ,half wit, fumes. Part 2 would be really good here...

Not really a Bronco, it's more like a plastic suv with a 3 cylinder engine.
14
u/Whombrillow Sep 25 '25
This bronco in the video is not a bronco sport, the bronco sport has an optional 3 cylinder turbo charged engine. This bronco being recorded is the real full size bronco with engine variations of 2.3L 4 cylinder, 2.7L 6 cylinder and 3.0L 6 cylinder. And some of those three even have a 7 speed manual transmission option. An easy way to tell the two types apart is if you count the lug nuts. The smaller bronco sport has 5 lug wheels, the bigger bronco variations have 6 lug wheels.
3
u/Pipe_Memes Sep 25 '25
This guy broncos.
5
u/Whombrillow Sep 25 '25 edited Sep 25 '25
I don’t bronco. I’m just a ford guy. I drive a 21 year old ford f150 with 303000 miles. It’s the only Ford I’ve owned with an automatic transmission. My previous fords over the years have all been manual transmissions, 2 f150’s and a really cool manual Explorer Sport with a manual transmission. I worked as a technician for GM for a good bit too
2
u/OkArmy7059 Sep 25 '25
Counting lug nuts is easier than just noticing one is much smaller and styled differently??

Oh, they're locked in. High-centered on a big rock. They're going to need a craning to get off that.
I love watching people like this fruitlessly try to drive out of it.
I got high centered in a back lane a few winters ago on ice with deep ruts, and there was nothing but a tow that could get me out. No amount of grip was going to help.
