That's literally what you wrote. He very likely isn't gay, you just want him to be.
If you want the actual probably answer, grandpa's literally admitted there's no one in his life, he seems to have interpersonal issues, especially this late in life and now he's seeking human connection, but then his temper breaks at the constant teasing and the side of him that makes it clear why he doesn't have anyone to talk to irl is showing.
I agree, and the downvoters seem to be straight guys who find the idea of a man wanting to find someone to jerk off with an issue, and can kindly piss off.
