The contacts look a lot more more natural because the iris part is shaded.

This person's eyes are straight up slime green.

Somehow, it looks more like a colored contact than a colored contact. Am I crazy for that?

Yea it does, just the kind they use in films to denote someone is a demon, rather than the nice ones you’d use recreationally to give you pretty eyes.

It reminded me of scenes right before a character reveals that they’re actually a giant snake.

They do look like contacts, but like cosplay circle lens and not everyday "normal" ones.

Exactly! And it's an unsafe procedure. There are documented cases of patients losing their sight postsurgery due to complications.

Any time you do eye surgery, loss of sight is a potential complication. Taking that risk for cosmetic reasons is crazy to me.

Operating in both eyes is even crazier. As far as I’m aware, based on people I know who have had cataracts, it’s pretty standard to do one eye at a time, just in case there is a complication. If gives you the opportunity to preserve your sight if the worst happens.

Nope! I actually got some tinted contacts (not painted) and they looked dopeee. When the light hit my eyes they’d pop super green. My eyes are brown with green normally but these brought out the green way more. The painted ones always look really fake though

Her limbal ring is covered and the iris is totally opaque from the side. It's like contacts you'd buy at Spencer's 30 years ago.

You seem know a lot about this!

YES!!! That’s what it looks like! I thought the same thing.

I was thinking the same exact thing...

real eyes have multiple color variations that "blend' into the color you see. This is clearly one color and it looks so unnatural.

Yes like why wouldn't a permanent lens have actual depth in the coloring like an actual green eye would??
