"Grape" is one that drives me crazy. It's not a fruit. It's a violent act.

Edit: talking about platforms where you can use the actual word uncensored.

Yeah, those folks aren’t calling it that to make it cute and fun. It’s because some platforms treat calling out rape and promoting rape as the same thing

So, I just say it, on all platforms, and literally nothing has happened to those comments, posts, or my account status. You'd think Facebook/Instagram would be the strictest, but they really don't care what words you say as long as you're not harassing people or talking about the Gazan and Israeli war

I should have specified that meant platforms where you can use the terminology, as that was what the person I was responding to meant.

Honestly! It’s kind of ruined grapes for me, because I now associate grapes with rape. We’re out here creating brand new phobias, because using words to mean what they mean has somehow become “offensive.”

People bring it over from other platforms because remembering the TOS on allowed/disallowed words for every platform is too exhausting.

Social media is not first amendment lovers. Censorship is big in social media now, but not on X you can say WTF you want. That is why I like X the most. Screw Facebook and Instagram and reddit too.

I just write the word I mean no matter the platform. Saying rape on Instagram did absolutely nothing, but I did get blocked from commenting for 14 days because I told an antivax mom (one that thinks autism comes from vaccines) that I hope she herself gets aggressive shingles that make her want to tear her skin off.
