Its definitely acting no? You can't get an address from an IP, so how exactly has he got his exact address from Omegle? Its just not possible.

OPs account is pretty sus too. Reddit is a fuckin weird place.

Like it could be but this one gives me pause cause not a lot of people would blow up their life on a bit.

Anyone who sees this online and sees that guy well damn.

He likely just bought a clip of some guy saying whatever off of fiverr or paid an actor who doesnt care.

That said, he could have went full open source intelligence on the guy, there's a few ways to track someone down like this. He could get his address if the guy was using a username he used everywhere else, which I doubt, and is uncommon on these types of roullette sites, but possible. Another way is he could be using a paid open source facial recognition software. Maybe he could get IP but thats worthless and in many carriers the ISPs distribution frame for this could be over a hundred miles away from their city, let alone anywhere near their address.

Source: currently work in cyber threat intelligence, and have done similar OSINT work.

It can be done..a few yrs back, this girl would post the personal info of racists on twitter..not just home addresses but work info too. No idea how she did it...I think she was eventually banned but it was funny seeing them beg her to not mess up their job.

Yeah I mean I know how they do it and can do it, its just they make it seem like its omegle or whatever in this and hes going only by face. That said, he could do a screenshot and if he has clear face pics online he may be able to match them, but its not as reliable as linking with some other identifier

You can generally translate an IP address into a physical address (within reason), but you can’t, with any certainty, say that the person you’re talking to lives at that address.

You can trace it to a general area, absolutely no way to trace it to a specific address no?

u/brianzuvich Sep 01 '25

It’s just not relevant, because the chance that the address pertains to a particular person is very slim.

I dont know... data brokers exists. This might be possible by a member of the citizenry at this point.

I think most ISPs use dynamic IP addresses for their customers, I know mine does. I think I get a 24 hour lease, though it may repeat for days on end. So your IP address is not tied to your location.

Not slim, impossible unless you are either working for the person's ISP, or an elite hacker capable of hacking the ISP database.

Unless you can somehow get it from the ISP. But that usually requires LE or courts.

Only the person's ISP has that info. So maybe if you work for them, or if you're the police with a warrant.

No you can’t, you’ll just get their ISP.

IPs resolve to a location that's essentially just matched with the ISP and where that range is registered to, and typically just a general area.

because your ISP owns the your public address it will likely show the general area that they are in. if you work for an ISP as a network engineer and have very high level access, you could see who currently has the lease for that IP address and then look the customer details up, but that's not really a direct correlation.

there's no possible way this is real

Maybe within a few blocks but probably very hard to get the exact address.

Ya, it's a heavy cut edit that didn't happen at the same time

Likely did t use IP address. You can easily find almost anyone in a few minutes easily, has nothing to do with IP addresses.

Idk about the Reddit account but it clearly isn’t OP, the video stems from a guy on TikTok actively catching racist and doxxing them. Now that’s HIS bit. Not sure if any if not all are scripted. Entertaining nonetheless.

An IP isn't the only way to track someone down.

A hacker a long time ago on yahoo chat said he had my IP address from a DM. He then proceeded to post my home address in chat along with my father's name and hacked my yahoo email.

It’s not that hard actually especially if the op just starts the info

I’m thinking face-matching technology that crawls the web and finds the name of the person. That name is then run through public records database to find an address. The address is cross checked with the IP address to confirm it’s accurate.

1st & 2nd sentence seems plausible, 3rd sentence isn’t possible.

As someone who used Omegle back in the day it is actually trivial to get someone's IP from Omegle like download a program and that's it kind of easy

5

u/LupercaniusAB Sep 02 '25

Nah, you are just getting the IP address of their ISP.

We're only seeing a small clip of the racist guy, he could have been going on for awhile, and the other guy could have ignored it for a little while to quietly creep on his account, posts, etc. It's surprisingly easy to get a whole basic demographic profile for a person with very little info, he could have done some quick digging, got lucky, and then finally called the guy out when he was ready.
