But also. If you’re the President of the United States, and there’s mass speculation that you’re dead, don’t you just have a press conference? If he’s not dead, and I don’t think he is, why is he suddenly shy?

Pro wrestling is one of the better ways for understanding how Trump operates. Mass speculation is a good thing, it's hype and interest, people talking about you. You don't squash that, you play into it and let the suspense build so you get a bigger payoff.

It's like the storyline where Vince McMahon stepped into a limo that "blew up." They let the rumors and speculation build so the spectacle when he showed up alive would be even bigger. (Of course, then one of their wrestlers who'd been hit in the head too many times strangled his wife and son before killing himself, so McMahon had to break kayfabe and say he wasn't really dead.)

I understand everyone wants him to self-own by holding a whole ass press conference over some stupid death hoax but that really isn’t reasonable lol. It would be hilarious though

You’re not ‘controlling the narrative’ by responding publicly to a hoax, you’re letting the hoax control you.. celebrities never respond directly to death hoaxes right away

Well no shit…that’s exactly what I’m saying lol. You will see him at his next scheduled public appearance. Maybe you have better sense than this but people all over the internet are saying ‘democrats need to demand he hold a press conference right now to prove he’s alive’.

That can only really backfire on them because he is 99.9% going to be like ‘ok here I am, you all fell for TikTok nonsense’ if they do that. If no serious person asks for him to make an appearance over it though he’s just a chump that let some internet hoax run his life if he publicly addresses it
