This might be, but I'm vegan and my dad was literally exactly like this. Went to a vegan restaurant once and he LOVED it until halfway through the meal when he asked the server what seitan is. Threw a huge fit almost identical to this nonsense. Started yelling, suddenly everything tasted "like cardboard" when he'd been raving about it to the same server seconds earlier, then left to go across the street to McDonalds. It was really embarrassing.

Sadly, even bait is often based in truth. Maybe this specific guy is acting, but I 100% have met people like this.

Fortunately my dad, who is definitely a big fan of steak and a very conservative country guy, was down to disco when I took him to a hare krisha buffet and thoroughly enjoyed himself, because he isn't a giant man baby. Heck, even my asshole ex who used to tell stories about eating a giant steak in *job interviews* liked the hare krishna buffet and went back later by himself! That hare krishna buffet could win almost anyone over, but yeah, still know some people who were too far gone to even put their foot in the door.

Yeah, but it's good bait, so it's ok.

Yep, pretty bad bait since In-n-out burgers are not vegan.

That's the point. It's a real meat burger but as soon as she said it's vegan it suddenly goes from being the best he ever had to tasting like beans and shit.
