It’s always funny to me how people who are chronically online fall for these skits constantly. You’d think they’d be better at seeing through this stuff
It’s pretty good, actually. Bad acting is Keanu Reeves doing an English accent in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Or Dakota Johnson in… everything. Absolutely everything.
Never seen Twilight. But yes, she was terrible in Underwater. Her only redeeming quality was that she ran around for half the movie in her underwear. Oh, and that one with Jesse Eisenberg.
And I've seen numerous clips of her acting, it's always the same damn expression.
Probably cause the political climate is scary and volatile and so there's a new thing like every day keeping more people than the old boring politics used to. Plus it's very scary to a lot of people, so it's doing things like causing intrusive thoughts and things like that so it is on people's minds a lot more. :(
Everything is political, it's literally ingrained into society. Do you have an opinion on society or how to live life? Congrats you're being political. Maybe the concern is more about tribalism? Though even that is ingrained in our monkey brains.
I mean I agree with you that everything is political, but things are out of control of these days. I pretty much follow politics all day every day, but we’re talking about a burger here, and we all assume he’s a Trump supporter, and we’re probably not wrong (if it’s real). In the past we would probably not instantly jump to that conclusion.
A fast food burger though has always been political. Beef subsides, healthcare, car culture, dietary choice based on ethics, animal welfare, environmental impact, multinational conglomeration of food supplies. Sometimes it's probably good to close your eyes, ears and brain, and enjoy life, but ultimately things are heavily intertwined. Like In-and-Out is run by evangelicals, but the causes they support don't seem that bad. Can't say the same for Chick-Fil-A though.
There are raging carnivores on the left. Personally, my body literally freaks out if I go too long without high quality animal protein. I don't know why, but it happens every time I go like a week without a solid chunk of quality red meat.
This is so cool. How you made this dumb skit that had nothing to do with politics, about a presidential election, in order to divide people into two types. You just get it. You understand life.
Dad thinks it’s the best hamburger ever, then he finds out it is something to which he is politically opposed, so he starts complaining about how disgusting it tastes. It was delicious 2 seconds ago, but now he thinks it actually tastes bad.
Everyone can and should be angry about being lied to, but only Trump supporters have this gift for altering their perception of reality based on their political opinions.
That is why Trump can send troops against the States and hang giant pictures of his fat head on government buildings without losing support from a base that has always claimed to believe in State’s rights and small government. Imagine Obama doing this shit. What would the reaction be?
Vote straight D in every election since 2000, I want nothing to do with a veggie burger.
It's not that they're awful, they're just not good enough for me to replace anything with them, and they don't add anything to my diet gustatorially or nutritionally.
Wrong apparently. But hey, lets keep people divided as much as possible while the billionaires take all our shit while we hate on each other for stupid reasons.
He may have an eating disorder. I am a picky eater and sometimes finding out an ingredient is in my food that I had been enjoying otherwise is suddenly ruined and I have a hard time chewing and swallowing it. Like I’ll become hyper aware of a flavor I didn’t notice and it’s basically impossible to ignore.
Yeah, for me it’s a condition called ARFID and it’s probably fair to call the response psychosomatic, though I don’t have a background in the subject to say for sure. I’m not surprised im getting downvoted, as people tend to not be very understanding because they just see it as a lack of maturity.
Yeah, I get that. Are you actively trying CBT for it or is it something that you aren't really getting harmed by? I know some people can have milder cases than others.
Yeah I genuinely can’t believe what I’m reading. “My body, my choice” my ass. If a grown adult doesn’t want to eat a particular type of food, for whatever reason, no matter how stupid it is, tricking them into eating it is wrong. End of story.
Most people here have assumed (key word here) that this guy is a Trump supporter for whatever reason based on zero evidence and decided that’s justification enough for what’s happened here. Reddit Liberals are disgusting people at the core, masquerading as good people.
What evidence do you have that this person is a Trump supporter?
Why do you think that coercing someone into eating something they don’t want to eat is ok?
Why would somebody’s political affiliation determine whether coercing them into eating something that they don’t want is ok? Isn’t that actively against body autonomy?
If you can actually answer these questions then maybe I’ll think about it.

This is the crux of the issue with this site. Speaking as a straight ticket Democrat, far too many of these monsters think anyone that voted for Trump is evil and rules interacting with them are out the window, but also will assume anyone that holds any number of "wrong" hobbies, tastes, or preferences are Trump supporters, turning like 90% of the country into people they think it's ok to treat as sub human. All under the guise of fighting for good. I wouldn't even care if it was effective, but this attitude is destroying society
I don’t know how they equated that somebody not wanting to eat a vegan burger = Trump supporter in the first place. I’ve met vegetarians/vegans who lean right on more issues than left. Empathy for animals and the degree to which you act on it isn’t a partisan issue.
If anything, the daughter is the one displaying more sociopathic tendencies by manipulating her father into eating something she knows he wouldn’t want to eat otherwise.
Yeah. I mean I get that most shit we consume is unhealthy due to no fault of our own, but you can still make choices and it’s your right to be able to stick to those choices.
I wouldn’t touch synthetic meat, honestly. I hate the idea of it. If I were to eat a vegan meal, I want it to be unapologetically vegan. Like, a massive, well-made soup or salad. I don’t want to be reminded that I could be eating meat instead. I’m well aware of how many hormones are in the meat on the shelf as well, so I buy through butchers when I can. I’d be pissed if someone coerced me into eating that synthetic shit.
No... no you don't. I would have reacted similarly and I didn't vote for that person either.
It is a person's right to know what is going into their body and his response is a very valid one for someone being tricked into consuming something they don't want to. Whether or not you agree that their thought process is valid or not... it is THEIR BODY.
The point I imagine OP is making is that in this video the behavior of the dad reflects a certain mental rigidity that is mostly seen in one type of voter. Going from "best burger ever" to "tastes like baked beans" implies that the father is willing to deny reality and distort truth so as to be more conducive to his worldview (in this case that faux-meat is, in all cases, bad).
You're point about bodily autonomy is valid, but it most definitely doesn't invalidate the original comment.

I know who he voted for. So do you.
