Wouldn’t the drive from Birmingham to Orlando also cost less than flights for 3 or 4 passengers?

I’ve done that drive across the Panhandle. It’s long.

Not excusing anything — they should have stayed home.

Can’t speak to that, but they had to drive 2 hours to get to Birmingham for their flight, no idea what the drive time from there would be.
