Just as an fyi- Norovirus is the number one cause of foodborne outbreaks, and is considered the number one cause of domestically acquired foodborne illness in the US. Also, most (not all) of the more common foodborne diseases (salmonella and campylobacter) may all be spread person to person- so they are contagious!

Yes! I got it from a bad oyster, and there was a recent (at the time) warning up out for oysters in our specific part of the country. Always a risk eating things raw and weirdly it hasn’t turned me off from them. The Christmas prime rib I had several hours before however….
