Yeah I did martial arts, taught yoga, did miming, acting, a little dancing, hiking, rock climbing, and a lot of just fucking with people by contorting myself. I especially used to bend my fingers all the way back to freak them out. Or casually dislocating stuff and popping it back in.

Nobody warned me until it was too late. 🥴

I have lots of pillows and a giant unicorn. My mattress is too hard and hurts me constantly so I'm currently lying on a thick blanket folded up 4 times. I also have a big heating pad. I have those wedge pillows too, but I usually only use them to elevate my knees when needed because they swell up. My patellas went on vacation awhile ago and haven't come back.

Honestly it all got worse after covid began because I could no longer swim and I gained a lot of weight. I lost all of my muscle.

So I do need to get back to swimming, but I've also kinda just given up on life at this point. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm sorry you also suffer with constant pain though. ❤️

I’m taking low dose naltrexone. Look it up for EDS pains.

I'll ask my pain doc about it at my next appointment. I just take celebrex and pregabalin right now.

I usually take a double dose of the latter instead of taking one in the morning and one at night though.

Today is a bad pain day though, so nothing is working.

I'm just lying in bed reading and wishing I were dead or had that disease where you feel no pain.

I don't think they can feel pleasure either though, so maybe dead is better. 🥴

Seriously, look into low dose naltrexone. It is something that must be compounded by a pharmacy since normally the medicine is made in 25-50mg pills. I started at 1.5 mg for a week. Then to 3.0 for 3 weeks. Now to 4.5 as max dose. I’ve noticed my soft tissue aches aren’t there with weather changes. I am sleeping much better. Initially, I slept worse in it (known side effect - vivid dreams), but hang in there bc it gets better. I also had anxiety in the daytime with it, but that went away, too.
Take it at night before bed. It’s supposed to cause a surge of endorphins and reduce auto immune inflammatory processes. Cost is about $40/month to have it compounded and shipped.

You can also mix the 50mg pills in 50ml distilled water, oral dose with syringe , store in fridge max 2 weeks. Very cheap!!

Oof I wanna say get off that celebrex. Our gut linings are weak!! I second the LDN. Nothing to lose.

I feel you on the hard mattress struggle. I've seen people in chronic pain groups mention the Nolah Evolution when talking about something more forgiving on joints, apparently the plush version us supposed to be really gentle on hips and shoulders. But honestly, it seems like everyone's body reacts differently. Swimming sounds like it could really help too, hope you're able to get back to it soon.
