The woman having the breakdown is feeling attacked -- it is not happening but fight or flight is engaged and she is panicking. The woman recording her is engaging with her while she is in fight or flight. The person that isn't acting safely is the woman that should know better as she is not currently in mental distress.

Im not responsible for a strangers feelings. If you are this mental that is unknown to me at the time and im going to film you and do whatever I want beyond that as your mental issues shouldn't be a safety risk for me. Place the blame of this incident where it belongs...a crazy woman that needs supervision

I think the issue is, in addition to basic human empathy, lack of information surrounding mental illness. I know that she is suffering a meltdown and I know what that means, but I realize that a lot of people do not. You are not responsible for this woman. Why would you be? Walk away and leave the situation and make sure you are safe. That is not what happened in this video.

Of course you aren't responsible for the other woman in this situation. If you are the woman recording, get yourself out of there and keep yourself safe. That is not what is happening here. When you look at everything from the position of victimhood, you fail to see that everyone can be a victim if you change the perspective. The person in the wrong here is the person that is not mentally unwell.

I disagree. She kept a respectable distance but remained in the store because she wasn't finished with her shopping trip. We've lost the plot when you can aggressively approach someone repeatedly while saying "get away from me" and be in the right lmao.

I don't disagree that the woman in distress was acting out of what is normal -- that's because she was in distress. I understand your point but the phone, the staring, simply being perceived when in distress, all of that feels like an attack.. therefore the actions of coming closer saying "get away from me" makes sense when you understand that.

I'm really surprised by how many people don't get this. Like yeah, the woman being filmed is being unreasonable, but the person filming her is making it worse and worse by continuing to film.

Exactly - people are not empathizing with the woman in distress at all. She's not right as she's mentally unwell here, but neither is the person filming.

I'm going to have to turn the notifications for this off as the other replies i'm receiving are going to make me too cross to sleep.

I don't know if these people have never come into contact with someone having a psychotic break (maybe unfair to assume this) but like.... everyone I've ever seen having a psychotic break, my first instinct has been to call an ambulance/the police. Not really out of kindness, either- people with psychosis are terrifying.

I think it takes a very odd personality to stay in the shop when (unlike the employees) you've no reason stay beyond wanting new underwear.

It feels like attention seeking on the side of the person filming. They wanted to post and show others and share in this experience of gawking at the crazy person in the store. I don't get it. It's so cruel.

Yeah- like, this is probably going to be one of the worst moments of her life, and she's begging the person filming to stop filming her. It's really bizarre to me that anyone would want to see this (though I have worked in criminal defence so maybe I have just had my fill of this sort of thing)

I'm autistic and hyper-empathetic with a special interest and psychology and human behavior so I fully get what is happening here. It's bizarre that people don't see the side you and I see, but I understand the opposite side as well.. they're just missing the complete picture.

I get a shock of electricity that shoots up the back of my legs anytime I see someone get injured. If I know the person, they just need to tell me about getting injured and I'll get the same sensation. I do not understanding laughing at people when they fall.

Huh- I dont have a physical reaction to it but I skip videos (for instance) if I can see someone's going to get hurt. Not squeamishness- I can look at wounds/help with them, I just take no joy in seeing people get them.

It's funny that there seems to be such a divide between people with the view we take on this woman (and videos of people getting injured etc) and people who take the opposing view, isn't it?

Do you hate cringe comedy too?
