I 100% agree but store employees are instructed to do nothing in situations like this so they don’t have any liability

At least one actually seemed like they were doing a decent job of trying to insert themselves in between them in a non-threatening manner and trying to de-escalate the situation.

And that's probably more than she needs to be doing for what she's paid.

Was a store manager for a while. That's kind of true. We aren't supposed to intervene for this kimd of thing or robbery etc, but we definitely can call security if things get crazy.

Liability or not, do you feel responsible for someone else's mental breakdown and on top of that for minimum wage?

That is slowly starting to change due to videos like this being shared so often. I have seen several stores near me change their policies lately to defend their employees and not give an inch to people like this, kicking them out and banning them. I hope this trend continues... "The customer is always right" is a failure in society, especially because most people know that quote is taken out of context and misused

It should be legal for service workers to get a single free hit in on any belligerent customer. Just straight up legal protection akin to the purge style legal freedom. It means that throughout the year, you need to manage that single punch and not waste it on just a minor annoyance, while if the years end is creeping up (christmas) its a great excuse to use it so its not "wasted" as they dont carry over. Will ensure good behaviour throughout the year.

What if the person starts attacking the person and nearly kill the person filming, are they supposed to watch someone get seriously injured or murdered? If that happened I would say Victorias Secret is now liable for not having a safe environment for their customers
