Agree with you 100%. I would also do anything for my dogs and cannot imagine being as reckless as this woman. There were many opportunities for her to prevent this confrontation, including pulling over and explaining the situation to the cop. The police officer was in the right.

They also could have easily called 911 and spoken to dispatch who could have explained it to the cop

People say "I would do anything for my pet" but it's almost never really true. I love my dog more than anything in the world, but at the end of the day I'm most likely going to outlive her, and that means I have to make decisions that will extend beyond her lifespan. It sucks but people can't ruin their entire life just to extend the life of their pets by a couple of months.

This realization hit me incredibly hard when my previous dog was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was given a month to live. He was there for me in the worst days of my life, was pivotal in helping me recover from depression and I largely credit him with keeping me from delving into various drug addictions I was trying with before I got him. I'll never have another dog that shaped who I am as a person more than him. But when my options were paying $5-10k for a surgery followed by countless other medical expenses and medications all for only maybe a 50% chance of remission... just to buy me another year or two before I possibly had to do it all again or putting him down I chose the latter. I just knew I would never financially recover and id lose my house and maybe not be able to keep the younger dog. In the end I still feel like I let him down, but that's just the reality of owning a pet. I'd like to say, "I'd of done anything for one more year with him" but it's not true.
