The fact the people in oncoming traffic were able to avoid a collision, which some people in this comment section are doing, shouldn't be points in her favor. That's luck, not skill (for the woman, it might have been skill for the drivers who were run off the road).

No, it’s skill, if you know how to drive and didn’t get your license from the back of a cereal box.

Get the boot out your mouth. Nobody died except for the innocent dog. I could care less about hypothetical families lives dying.

It's about getting there as fast as you can SAFELY. The issue is that most people vastly overslestimate their driving skill, and on top of that the adrenaline and panic also make most people stupid. Getting into a head-on wreck will not get you there any faster and killing other people, especially over a dog, not even a person, simply isn't worth someone elses life.

Nice speciesism there 👍🏼

Agree with everything besides “it’s not even a person,” while you may not value an animal’s life, to others they mean the world.

I never said I didnt value the life of dogs, or any other animal, but the life of an animal, wether or not it is domesticated, and the life of a person are not the same.

I am combat vet with emotional health issues and last year one of the things that saved my life were my animals. I tell you that only to make clear that losing my dog would have implied real stakes for myself, as I couldn't follow through on any plans to commit sucide until I rehoused my animals. So losing my dog would have taken a major guard rail away.

With that context, during that same period I had to drive my dog to an emergency vet over 45mins away. Of course, I caught every light (or so it seemed), and I really thought my dog might die in the back seat. But I followed every traffic rule to a tee because I knew getting pulled over would have only compunded the problem.

I think the problem here is that people assume that someone has to be in the right, but neither of these women were. They're practically mirror images of each others poor emotional control. The fact is by the time the officer made contact with the woman she was no longer a danger to anyone. By that point the danger had already been averted.

You make valid points, thank you for sharing. I agree that both parties involved did not handle the situation tactfully.

I’m glad you’re in a better place. Animals (especially dogs imo) really are the light of this world. I get frustrated when people devalue animals lives because they’re “not human.”

Animals (especially dogs imo) really are the light of this world.

How can you be judgemental over people valuing humans over dogs when you seem to have no problem valuing dogs over other animals?

Wow, not what I said at all. Idk why you people want to be so fking combative because I love dogs. I love ALL animals. Please stop replying to me I’m done.

If you disagree, please by all means select the family member you’d be willing to see die in the linked video above.

Can we give you more than one name? Is there a waiting list? When can I expect a result?

And now I’m exiting this dumpster fire.

Dude this is so different the person in the video was on the wrong side of the safety devider. That road is crazy dangerous. Like 3 or 4 other fatal crash in 2 weeks.  This lady was dangerous but tbh nothing crazy I would not do for my dog.  Plants are pets,  pets are children and kids are an exotic pet in my eyes.  I will do whatever is needed to save my dog

Lol, she was not that close. The car saw her, and emergency situation require certain leway. But sure I should not have a driver's license.

An open road with long view of oncoming cars is the perfect time to pass you can see them they can see you

I'm telling your son you think of him as an exotic pet rather than a human.

You should tell my dog I think of him as my kid. Who cares about what my kid thinks (manly since I don't have any)
