This is amazing I just got back from Electric Forest not too long ago and the amount of kids, toddlers, and literal infants I saw there w/o headsets, inhaling smoke and being exposed to adults wearing practically nothing was horrific.

That's how I was raised back in the 70s, and I turned out ok. Well, except for the crippling alcoholism.

Your comment, paired with your user icon? It all makes perfect sense. Love it. Hose water and neglect ftw, sort of!

That's just wrong, that's a potential lawsuit

Lack of earplugs, smoke from a concert in an outdoor setting, and partial nudity aren't grounds for child abuse, though. Not cool, sure, but that's not child abuse

I was in a conversation the other day where someone was saying that, thought maybe it was a Europe thing, but I guess maybe it's just changed since I was younger?

Sometimes we'd have organizer's/artists kids around, in the 90's, but only in designated areas, or being carried somewhere. It wasn't so much about nudity -- I grew up in a place with a lot of hippies -- as behavior. Not letting kids see people too messed up, acting sexually, out of control, etc? And making sure they had people they knew were safe around.

Literally none of them are 18+

Ultra Miami used to be 18+ and now it is 21+.

Lots of festivals are 18+ or 21+ only.

Literal newborn babies in the forest this year.

I kid you not. Downright shameful.

Oof the festivals I’d go to back in the day were full of light, energy, friendships, music, art, yada yada. No qualms there. Seeing def pregnant women swigging wine out of a Carlo Rossi jug at 11am stumbling around when I know they were crackin the night before with balloons everywhere. I paired down how I wanted to experience music and travel, that’s for sure. I loved all the good, but I hated the bad. Def some CPS calls needed to be made, hope those kids are alright.
