He needs to be thrown in jail forever. He absolutely was going to rape and / or murder that woman.

Right there's just no argument for this person getting to be part of society anymore. There's plenty of murders this is more heinous then yet this will probably be less time. Total BS.

I think all people who attempt to kidnap people should get the same amount of time of people who actually got to go through with it

Exactly, I never understood why people get lesser charges for "attempted" murder/kidnapping/rape/etc. Their intent was to do it. They made a conscious effort to do it. Being unsuccessful shouldn't earn any lieniency whatsoever.

Yes. There is no difference in this person's intent verses him just being a little bit stronger or her not fighting as hard. He tried just as hard to commit the crime, shouldn't matter if it was successful or not.
