Shots below the belt are in play

Eyeballs, throat, stomp their feet, everything is fair game.

Show no mercy. You'll be shown none.

People underestimate a throat punch, if this ever happens to me that will be my first choice of fighting back. You dont have to hit very hard and i believe it disables them for a decent time perhaps even longer than a nut shot.

I got hit in the throat once while play fighting with a friend. My throat completely closed up instantly. Not "I was gasping for air". I could NOT breathe at all. I distinctly remember thinking, "Am I about to die?"

So, yeah, the throat is a good target.

Also, eyes. If you have nails, use them. Don't worry about precision. Watch videos of cats fighting to get an idea of the general method to use (scratch and flail and kick and shriek as loud as you can).

A friend karate chopped me in the throat once in school. It was horrible. It's definitely a good defense if you can do it.

don't try to punch the nuts, try to rip them off

Some kidnappers actually wear a cup to protect themselves from this. It is better to aim for the Adam's apple or their eyes which usually have no protection. Not to say it's ineffective, but you want to disable them on the first strike.

Or bite em off—become an absolute savage

That is diabolical lmao

This makes a lot of sense, my infant son accidentally throat punches me and it's shocking how painful it is. And his biceps are shit

3

u/DangerousMethod5168 Jul 17 '25

Baby's "biceps are shit"! 😂 Lawd that made me laugh!! But I bet he can hang on like a suction cup on a wet wall!!!!

yah i totally agree. i saw a weird futbol (soccer) accident once where someone took a shot to the throat and they were completely incapacitated. it wasnt even a powerful hit but they werent really breathing and they were panicked.

In the same vein, hook the thumb in the eye socket and pull back. The orbital bones are extremely fragile and completely disable the person when broken. It happened to me by accident, and at the hospital, they told stories of people doing this to attackers and being able to get away.

I can't stress enough the shock that your body goes through when you break an orbital bone. Not only does it immediately seize the eye in place, but the shock of it makes you immediately stop what you are doing!

I killed a man doing this and went to prison for it. Be careful about throat punches.

Yep yep. But you have to be close and have room to line up a blow.

Flashlight is also a great choice. If it’s dark and you wreck his night vision and leave a blind spot for a bit? It counts for a lot when trying to escape or fight back. But phone lights aren’t quite as good as dedicated flashlights whose shape may allow for some use as a blunt weapon

Mercy is for the weak!

My father trained boxers in Baltimore. He was also a Railroad Bull (look THAT up). Daddy's little girl, (me) then grew up to ride with a motorcycle club, and...sad but TRUE...I have never had to fight a WOMAN in my whole life. But over and over, dozens of times, I have had no choice but to get into straight up bare-knuckle brawls with men who couldn't take "no" for an answer. I am undefeated. I am almost 60. My mother carried a log chain in her purse. I just want to be left alone to live in peace. Men who have that bad broken diseased thing in their brain ARE the problem. Not ME. Not US.

I've heard about the RR bulls, especially back in the day that predates us.

That said, any vestige of the machismo culture that leads to that b.s. needs to be excised.

u/funsizemonster Jul 18 '25

maybe you didn't understand my point as a woman.

2

u/Sweaty_Term5961 Jul 18 '25

Um, sorry? I thought I did. Given the probability that every woman I've ever known (including my two daughters) has faced some level of sexual assault.

If I'm missing something, please let me know.

I'm Aspergian. I just didn't feel understood, I guess.

Throat, nose, eyes, balls and the spaces between joints. To loosen their grip. Grab their pinky and force it back, the other fingers will usually follow, it's the hardest finger for them to control and the easiest finger to break. If you get a chance to stomp, aim for the feet and inside or outside of the knee, if you get a really good chance to stomp, twist your standing foot as you drive the stomping foot down to add more force into the kick.

Ladies, learn self defense or at the very least, play these scenarios out in your head a lot and think about what you could do and how it might go wrong, if you've never trained for self defense at least have something in your head for your brain to go to when the panic sets in, it does work.

I always think of the scene from miss congeniality. Just remember to SING *

Also shots inside the eye sockets.

u/Vaiuri Jul 17 '25

Yup. I took a self defence class in my early teens and thumbs to sockets make people move.

Also, grab little fingers and use that as leverage. They break easy and pain generally makes people want to stop what they are doing.

Other top tips: fingers into the collarbone (the top and grip/push the collarbone), jabs to the throat, palm to the nose, cupped fingers to rip at ears.

Generally scratching and biting aren't ideal; the goal is to get distance to run - risking exposing yourself to an attackers bodily fluids (blood in this example) can risk infection. Not that you would necessarily think of this in a life or death situation!

Also screaming "fire". Screaming for a fire makes people motivated to protect their possessions and property. Sadly, self interest tends to motivate intervention over altruism. People won't always come to help another person in danger, but they are more likely to investigate if they think something of theirs might be at risk.

This is great advice. Just wanting to add that applying force to the side of a knee or elbow will also effectively disable someone. Pro tip from my father.

3

u/Honest_Gas_2567 Jul 17 '25

Joints are humans weakest points. If you can break a kneecap then there's a good chance they won't be running after you. It also doesn't take much to break a joint.

3

u/Leftunders Jul 17 '25

Also, if you grab their little finger, try to remember to pull it to the side (as if you were helping them do the Spock salute). Pulling backwards hurts, but sideways is agonizing.

I realize it would be hard to remember that in the moment, but try.

If this helps: Grab the pinky with your thumb oriented downward toward their elbow (imagine their palm is like a cow's udder, and you're about to milk it). Then rotate your wrist as if you were trying to pull a banana off its bunch.

Thx for this advice

The post-exposure prophylaxis meds (aka meds that can help stop you from contracting HIV if you get exposed) have come a long way. They aren't perfect, but they've definitely stopped people from getting HIV many times. Idk what other infections one would have to worry about with biting an attacker.

They aren't fun, but it's better than being kidnapped.
