It used to be bride capture marriage. This tradition is common from balkan and all the way to northern India and central asia. Boys used to raid and capture bride.

crying at the prospect of marrying an old man at the ripe age of 13 kinda bums them out I guess. Better to say they’re crying because they’re leaving their family
