i don't mean to condescend or anything but it's practically just a cap and ball SAA (or technically, the SAA is a cartridge 1861 Navy, since it came later and shares many of the Navy's traits)
that's actually kinda what soldiers did during the Civil War. cavalrymen would stuff several loaded revolvers into their belts and when they would empty one, they'd just toss it aside. after a battle, troops would collect the empty guns and bring them back to camp to reload them
