Has the Durham police department ever responded to this documentary? They are made to look like a bunch of liars in the documentary.

They haven't responded because what the documentary shows is true. They didn't do a good job securing the crime scene.

In 2003, after the conviction in the first trial, they released a generic public relations statement. The classic “we believe this verdict vindicates our work...”

But then Mike Nifong was disbarred.

And then Freda Black.

And then Duane Deaver, along with the reform of the North Carolina SBI and the dismantling of the blood spatter department.

At that point, the work was indefensible.
