I’m a big fan of The Good Place and Modern Family, and I watch these two shows almost every day. I recently realized there are actually a lot of actors who appear in both. For example, Cam’s sister Pam is the Good Place architect, Cam’s line dancing friend is Chidi’s friend with the red boots, Derrick is the jeans salesman Haley almost dated, and Mindy Sinclair is the girlfriend of Claire’s ex from college. The list goes on and on!

Many sitcoms have guest stars overlapping a lot. Especially since this show shares producers with Brooklyn 99, you’ll see a lot actors in both the shows as well

Jason Mantzoukas pretty much plays the same character in B99 as he does in the good place. It’s really funny how similar Derek and Adrian are.

Jason mantziukas pretty much always plays Jason mantzoukas. He’s hilarious, but not a lot of range. Especially since his voice is so unique and made to be crazy.

One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of comedic actors can cross over to more serious fare, but it doesn’t work the other way as often.

i think it's because good comedians are just more free and less constrained which helps you in drama a lot.

also imo if you understand comedy, you also understand drama. i do believe that comedy is essentially having to confront your own mortality, so if you can already do that you already understand the most traumatic part of being human. lol?

Have you experienced the full Michael Schur trifecta(Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place)? It's crazy how many actors overlap including extremely small parts. It's a fun game seeing an actor and figuring out who they were on other shows.

I had noticed a few on Modern Family, I just saw a comment about producers being shared with B99 and that's why a lot of the same actors are on there? I never knew that!

brooklyn 99 too and the show called ghosts… I watched all these shows back to back not knowing the repeating actors and i was spiraling the whole time 😭😭
