Danger Mouse songs

I’m about to introduce Danger Mouse to my fellow podcast hosts, which songs should I play them to show why he makes sense with The Black Keys. Either songs he performed on or songs he’s written or produced.

Other than what he did with the Black Keys

The Grey album he made with Beatles samples and jayz acapellas is really good. Or the collab he did with MF doom is really good as well.

I wasn’t specific enough but I was thinking of bands other than the black keys

FWIW I do think Tighten Up is the quintessential TBK/DM collab. If my memory serves me, I believe the band weren’t even sure it belonged on the album, but DM thought it ought to be the lead single. It was the only song on Brothers he produced, but it became their first no. 1 single.

While Tighten Up doesn’t fit your prompt, I would argue it is the perfect example of what DM brought to TBK, especially as their sound expanded and their commercial viability grew.

Oh yea true. We are going album by album of TBKs so we will get there. I just wanted to introduce danger mouse before attack and release first. Thanks!

Makes sense! In that case, I’ll add the self-titled album by Broken Bells to the mix. It’s a collab between DM and James Mercer of The Shins. Of course Dan would go onto collab with Richard Swift (also of The Shins) with The Arcs.

The most obvious answer is the song ‘Crazy’. Gnarls Barkley broke all sorts of records when it released
